Samco Sport Radiator/Heater Hose Kit (Group Purchase)

Hello everyone,

I just got done recieving my silicone FHH and PHH kits from http://www.1fzfephh.com/

Well, i took a look at the hoses and thought, wouldn't it be nice to have all the OEM radiator/heater hoses looking this nice also?

So i contacted Samco Sport directly and inquired about them making a hose kit for the 1FZ-FE Engine. This was their reply:


"Hello Jacob,

Thank you for the suggestion of the hose kit for the Land cruiser, we would be very interested in manufacturing a complete set of hoses for this application if there was enough interest from your club members. Could you maybe get some rough figures as to how many people would buy the kits?

I would need a set of OEM hoses to copy for the tooling, along with their relevant part numbers and locations on the vehicle.

I look forward to any suggestion you may have.

So my question to all the MUD members out here is, would you guys be interested in purchasing and replacing your OEM hoses for some Samco Sport Silicone Hoses? The hose kit would look like the blue PHH & FHH kit hoses, but would replace all the OEM prebent radiator hoses.

If you guys are interested would you just want a radiator hose kit, or a complete kit for both radiator/heater hoses?

As far as pricing, i haven't asked yet as i am trying to get some figures ready to send back to Samco Sport and see if it is worth the effort.

Sounds like its worth investigating. I have the same PHH kit and liked the hoses but REALLY LIKED the clamps

if you can get them to do the molded PCV hoses at the valve cover and air intake hose w molding (or clamp) for throttle cable and a split housing for the wiring harness at the firewall and near the exhaust - I would love that kit- IN BLACK!! (OR Grey)

Forgot to mention,

They will most likely have a kit for purchase through their distributors if they can get enough interest. So this won't be a one time offer thing.

I personaly am happy with the OEM hoses and already have a new set on the shelf. I have replaced a few, but they have held up well so far.

The stock hoses are good, but the sililcone is better. It's a lifetime hose...

I'd go for a set....

I'd be interested, but wonder what they would run for the set. If the price is double the price of a full set of Toyota houses then it would be worth it if they would last 150K.

I'd be interested in some kind of estimate. I could easily see a complete kit costing upwards of $500. Without some idea of cost I have no idea if I'd be interested in a kit.

I'm just waiting on seeing what you guys would like included in the kit. Just radiator hoses, radiator, fhh, phh, pcv, ect. and color preference....

This should give the guys over at Samco a good base to do an estimate on.

It should be a complete set.

A Samco set for a Sport Compact is around $150 So I would guess $250 for a complete LC set.

Well, fhh/phh are no-brainers. just cut bits of straight tube. those should be freebies!

The formed hoses are the only ones I would care about in a kit. Pick the most convoluted hoses to make a kit from- the other stuff can be 'optional' or cut yourself from generic silicone hose.

I'm largely intersted in the air intake b/c it's known to always crack and split. It would eliminate that problem.
maybe the hose coming off the t-stat housing? ...

The air intake sounds like a good idea. That, and mine does need replacing because of it being cracked

Edit: So far, i was thinking, upper/lower radiator hoses, and hose going to t-stat housing... air intake hose sounds like a good idea also....

y'all are talkin mega bucks for those hoses...if the cost is down I would be up for all the coolant hoses, PCV, and intake.

I would be interested in a full set, of coolant hoses, and heater hoses, and unlike the one guy, I actually like blue. Never would have thought of blue as being a gay color.

I think a color besides black gives it the custom look that's instantly recognizable as being different and "Custom".

Of course price is going to make a difference for sure. $500 for hoses, then I'm out, but double or triple the cost of factory hoses, then I'm in for sure.

Yes, good clamps should be added as well, and I bet those big clamps alone are expensive. Get some pricing and let us know an ETA on them if they're a go.

How many custom molded hoses does the LC have? I would love to have some of those formed... Don't forget the clamps, a pity to have such nice hoses that leak due to crap clamps holding them on.

As for the air intake hose, two flex bellows and a piece of aluminum tubing? Silicone stuff can be expensive for a long section of that diameter.
