Wes, congrats on your new warn winch. Ain't that supposed to be $528.00? 548-20 = $528.

Thanks, I just rounded up 2 bucks.:meh:

This will be going on the FJ40.

Don't you think that's a heck of a deal?

That is an awesome deal for a brand spanking new warn winch. Now, I'm getting tempted to get one especially with free shipping.

Warn 8000 Self-Recovery Winch

$512.99 + $9.95 shipping @ WD :)

Keep an eye on the pricing as it fluctuates quite a bit...

Last year, it dropped down to $495 and there was FREE shipping on all winches (still kicking myself for not ordering)

so that bets mine by like $10. Now you make me not so happy about the deal I found.

Hey it's still good you posted up so someone can get a good deal.

$495 would have been about the same price as the cheapo winches.

Be on the look out for local deals...

Found this on Craigslist last weekend:

Warn M8000 winch. Installed for less than 60 days (garage kept) before removing when I sold my truck. Never used other that to remove the cable for installation.
Like new condition. Includes everything that came with the winch (manual, controller, roller fairlead and every nut and bolt)

Asking 400.00/ accepted my offer for 350.00

Now it resides nicely on my new ARB winch bumper.

Warn Winch 8000 or Warn Winch 12000?

Been doing some research on winches recently and found out a couple of things. First, if you're not a "daily user" and you drive a typical truck, jeep or SUV then you don't need to pay in the $1,000's for a a reliable bumper winch. Especially if you're an "occasional user" that hits the trails on weekends where you might need a winch 3 or 4 times max through the whole weekend. I've seen (as many of you have noticed) that prices can "fluctuate" on winches. With that said, best deal for the money on a quality winch is the Warn brand. And if you have the typical truck, jeep or SUV the warn winch m8000 is likely your best bet. Under $600 ($539.85) at the moment. Brand spanking new and free shipping from amazon (that saves about up to $50). If you've got some monster mudders and you're carrying around a couple 300lb friends on the trail with a couple cases of beer and gear in the back you might go for the vr12000 with 12,000lb pull rating (about $150 more). Check'um out at "warnwinchreview" to get more details. You'll notice that right now the m8000 has 9 reviews and every one is a 5 star rating. The vr12000 has 1 review so far, it's a 5 star rating too. With top ratings on these products I would think the price will be headed higher before long but don't know for sure. Again, you can check'um out at Warn Winch Review - Top Rated Bumper Winch For Off Road | Warn Winch Review | Finding The Right Bumper Winch and you'll find links there to Amazon.

I can find a good deal on a warn every now and again whether new or used. What I find difficult however is finding a deal on a 24 volt winch. The M8000 seems to be cheaper than alot of warns winches and sounds like it's a good one. For that reason I'd love a 24volt M8000 to mount under my rear bumper
