This is what I found, and I think it may be helpful to others. I'm running a 70 Suburban pump, 68 Buick Skylark box, and I found the hose for a '78 Heep CJ5 will work with VERY minor bending of the hardline. I paid 23.00 at Autozone, so I will have a spare in the spare parts bin just in case! See the pics:

Flare, not O-ring style, correct?

Yes, Inverted Flare. I went down the o-ring road with my first pump, and decided just to go to a differenct pump.

Hi All:

Thanks MTWeller, that is great info to have stashed away!

Regards,

Alan

Sure thing Alan. I have a return nipple part number that I got for like 8.00 from Carquest I am going to post up tonight with pictures as well.

I can't believe nobody commented on my bugger welds on the scab plate :)

The stealth black paint you are using covers well.... ;)

Post up a pic and the part number of this return nipple...this is going in the FAQ.

Looks like you are having fun!

Clean and tight! Looks like it was made to be there.
I'll log it away for the soon day when I know that my minitruck conversion doesn't make me feel good anymore. (truck's not even on the go yet and a 33"x12.5 has hit the draglink while just going from barn to shop)

31x10.50 Goodyear MT's on stock '83-40 series wheels rub that also...

My pump resivoir just has a hardline with a nipple. 3/8 hose and hose clamp was all it required.

It looks like you are using the smog pump bracket and that there is not much "slack" in the hose. In your estimation would this hose be long enough if one were to use a bracket that mounts higher on the engine like Dory or other brackets that mount off the head bolts?

Thanks for doing the hard work and finding an application and part number.

It's hard to tell from the pics, but the hose is routed in a loop b/c it is a little long for my setup, but still works well. I think it would be long enough to reach up near the block where those brackets locate the pump, but it's impossible to say for sure. If not, return the hose and get you money back. It's worth a try!

Dunno' Hugh, try some of the other parts stores. I had no problems.

Advance part number for the '78 Jeep CJ hose

Web Part number 91473 for a V8 $19.99

Web Part number 91875 for a 6 cylinder $21.99

Wish the pics were still up of the fitment.
