Please update the thread when you receive the new belt. I’m curious which color they substitute and if you’re happier with it. I kind of liked the darker brown.Hey everyone, just an update.
I didn't receive a response to my email, and my calls to customer service went to voice mail with no return... I did find a number to text and when I did that I received a response within 5 minutes and a call a few minutes after that. I suspect it's the owners phone. If anyone needs it, just DM me...
So, they are going to fix it (they mentioned their lifetime warranty) but I have to front the cost of postage and they will reimburse me for the return shipping costs later. They don't offer call tags so that's the only way they can make it right.
They said they will do their best to match based on my pictures as they won't have the original webbing anymore. I am considering sending my passenger side at the same time so they will have a reference, but I'm not sure I want to go to that effort.
Long story short, I'll chalk it up to labor shortages hurting their response time and will update once they make it right.
Will do... I would not have minded it if I had replaced all the belts, but it looked stupid by itself... This doesn't excuse the fact that I won't be able to take my kids out this weekend for Memorial Day festivities and my birthday weekend nonetheless.
Thanks @jpoole I did consider that, but I'm just gonna deal with it for now. It will be that much sweeter when it returns to me. Besides, I just sent it back several hours ago. And I've calmed down since my earlier 'nervous breakdown'. LOL. It really isn't the end of the world for sure, I just want it to get fixed right. I really believe after speaking with the manager, they're goal is to get it right, which I very much appreciate!I'm sure you are frustrated, I would be.
Here's an idea from the cheap seats. Why don't you install this belt that's the wrong color so that you can roll your 80 through the weekend, or longer, and then send it back when it's more convenient for you? It won't get there much faster shipping it out now vs. Monday for instance and you could enjoy your truck on your birthday weekend and take the some of the sting out of this mistake.
@clx16 It appears from the colors on their webpage, they sent me a tan color. I sent mine in like the photo I attached showed. My thought was exactly like yours, that they should be able to match it up right there. I selected 'gray' from the 'Webbing Replacement' menu, then selected 're-web seat belt' and then selected 'Color option: Gray' and it seems they sent me a tan or 'light gray' which they don't have listed in the 'Webbing Replacement' menu.@saraujo any idea what color they sent you? I think i would prefer to send mine in with an exact color in mind. I think that might make my chances a little better until the take the color blind person and put them in another position besides color match work. Would be great if people would post the colors that are the closest to stock.
@WannaCruise Yep, thought of your seat belt situation. I did tell them that I totally believe they'll get it right and am looking forward to recommending them, as well as sending more work to them. The manager I spoke to was really cool and apologetic. I didn't yell at them, I was cordial and just told them that I wanted them to fix it and he very much heard my concerns. I agree with @jpoole... Just put it back in for the weekend and ship it out on Tuesday. I still haven't sent mine back yet because I needed my truck for a few days after I got the belt back so I reinstalled the off color belt until I have time to be without it for another week... That'll likely be next weekend.

Do they at least function well?Well, I got my replacement belt back and I'm sorry to say that it's not any better. Apparently they thought rose would be a better color match but, on a positive note, they did pay attention to the direction of the buckle this time...

Their turn around time is great, and they were pretty nice to work with, but they didn't follow up with me to discuss the color options available like they said they would. They received the belt on Saturday via USPS and when I called them to check in at 9am ET on Monday, they said it was already done and in the shipping box...
I just can't recommend these guys at this point.
On a different note, does anyone have a good driver side belt that they would like to sell?

Does your invoice state whether you received tan or beige for the “color match”@WannaCruise You literally have nothing to apologize for. I got my seat belt back today and not happy to report the same webbing swing and a miss.
Does this look even remotely close to gray? I mean do you have to be a rocket scientist to not see the difference between the default buckle color and the webbing replacement color? Compare my previously sent photo and the one I received back and it's not even close. This looks more like the color that @WannaCruise should have had for his original order.
So, for all the people that will ask if I called and talked to safety restore, yes I did. I just got off the phone with one of their folks and a manager is going to call me back. I look forward to helping them sort my situation out and the interest of future orders from people here at IH8MUD. So far, I'm trusting they're going to do the right thing and I'm shipping it back to them today.
