I would also request OEM glass or the equivalent. NOT the Safelite Chineesium junk!

Can you share what glass is made in China? Safelite does not manufacture glass.

Fuyao makes aftermarket glass in Ohio for this truck and hundreds of other vehicles.

My Lexus glass from the dealer was manufactured in Indonesia.

IIRC… their company/supplier was XYG. Not to be confused with Fuyao (FYG???), who is an OEM supplier. There is some type of class action against Safelite, due in court this year (Sept. 2025) for not using OEM specified replacement parts, but billing out customers and Insurance companies for the OEM parts. Google search will provide info…

The greater issue with installs on these trucks is not the glass. Use whatever you want there. It’s the side moulding installation with the rivets that trips installers up and where incorrect installs lead to water intrusion.

My truck was victim to the glass being fitted slightly lower than the correct position, so water pooled in one section of the top trim and caused rust to form on the frame.

Jake from snake farm approved mine for oem glass about a year or so ago so never hurts to ask.

If not oem, you might consider ppg but you want it done right to keep water from seeping in. Consider oem trim moldings - i know they’re expensive but there are lots of threads describing problems resulting from water seeping in.

Just support local and call around to local install shops. Mention LC’s, the rivets, moldings, etc. then based on the responses choose them or keep calling around.

Most installers will bill your insurance if that’s the route you’ve chosen. Just verify with them.

I personally won’t use safelite again. I quickly learned you have to vet their installers. Problem is after the install if there’s an issue. Working between insurance and safelite is a headache, plus Safelite’s customer service is atrocious.

Travelers approved the following for me:
  • Lexus Glass
  • Both side trim moldings from Lexus
  • Rivets for side trim moldings from Lexus
  • Upper trim molding from Lexus
I did have to specifically ask for all of these parts. I had the P/Ns in front of me. The office/estimator at the glass shop was hesitant to submit the claim with my request, but it was approved in less than 24hrs.

I have a $0 glass deductible and used a local installer who knows how to do the install correctly. Him and his apprentice spent extra time cleaning up the rough spot on my window frame due to a botched install earlier in the truck's life.
