Count me in Rudster! Are you bringing your girly-friend and her kid? I am thinking about inviting a friend of mine that has 2 kids and was hoping this was going to be a family friendly outing. Let me know if anyone else is bringing family so I know whether or not to extend the invitation!

FWIW - My parts manager (in the FJC) is bringing his wife and daughter

Murf,
Thanks for the kind words. However, and I need to tread softly here when speaking to a seasoned professional, Sandcat is actually a 4th generation 4Runner (2007). 5th Generation started in 2009.

I think there's one in AZLCA. John Morgan has a 2011 Trail Edition 4Runner and I'm a bit jealous!! They added a bunch of goodies to the off-the-shelf model including, but not limited to, an OEM rear locker.

Regards, Sandcat

Just the girly- friend is going. See you there

I will be going with the :princess: and my son. I plan to stay in Sedona Friday night and would need to meet up in Sedona Saturday morning around 8:30-9:00am?? Could I arrange a phone call from the group when it reaches the I-17/179 split so we could head over to Schnebly Hill Rd or some other predetermined pit stop location?
I know, I am kind of high maintenance:o

I like staying at the Airport Inn. Ain't the fanciest place in town, but it is affordable, and the view is perfect. Walk out of your room and you are on the top of the cliff above the south side of Sedona looking across the valley right at the red cliffs on the north side. Sunsets and sunrises are just fantastic from this vantage point. John

I Googled the "Airport Inn Sedona" and came up with nothing. Is this a hotel or more of a B&B? The searches mostly come up with the Sky Ranch Lodge, same thing?

I will be camping in the area next weekend.

I'd like to meet you at the trailhead Saturday morning.

I'm guessing you will be at the end of Morgan Road between 9 & 10?

Could be they changed the name or, just my bad memory. It is on the road into the airport. right at the top of the butt. We were there to run the Casner Mountain Trail the next morning with AzLCA. Been a few years ago. There was a lot of dispersed camping on the west side of Hwy 89A at the top of the rim where we came out. John

Looking to get to Broken Arrow around 915am - 930am time frame - that is the entrance of the Broken Arrow trail

For those that have not been to Broken Arrow as you come into the Sedona area from 179 (coming from I 17)you will start to come to some traffic circles or roundabouts and the one you need to make a right on is Morgan Rd.

Here is the map of Broken Arrow information.

Meet time is still at 7am with a quick meeting and a departure time of 7:15am sharp.

Looks like I am not going to be making this run after all. The family is planning a Prescott getaway at the lake for the weekend.

Says 55 degrees for a low in Munds park area where we are camping :bounce:

wow, I might have to locate my jacket for this trip!

See you guys at 7am

I'm sorry guys but I have to get on a red-eye tonight to FL for a family emergancy. I was really, really looking forward to coming by tonight and the trip to Sedona. I'm already looking forward to the next one! Take a lot of pics!

Sorry to hear hope all turns out well:cheers:

On my way ... Running late ... Meet you on the trail!

Had to cancel at the last minute... A/C in the 4Runner was questionable and then on the way home last night pretty bad, just barely kept up and that was without the sun heating the cabin... have a good time all! :crybaby:

Thanks Rudster for a well scheduled trip.

Great scenery, miles of dirt, and cool weather. The highlight for me was the rain and thunder most of the night while I was dry and comfortable in my CampTeq.

First run with Sandcat(Ron) in a very nicely built 5gen 4Runner, nice platform.

I did get a little memory on the rear door when I slipped on wet tire.:frown: Lesson learned, if you push yourself odds will catch up sooner or later. Hopefully Im good for while and it could of been worst.
