Last call!! Departure for Moab is less than a month away. With Johnny riding now I have two more seats in the truck if anybody wants to go for a long, extremely awesome, road trip. There is plenty of room at my camp site to pitch a tent too. Let me know if there is any interest.

I want to go so bad but dam work has me goign somewhere else.

I bought 3 nat geo maps today at REI to continue planning for my trip in october.

Granted, mine wont be Cruise MOAB and it will be less extreme but fun none the less.

so far this is the plan for my october trip to utah.

LEG 1-At this point I already have a route from Arizona border to Moab Utah.
LEG 2 - almost have finished route on mostly dirt going west across utah to nevada.

LEG- 3 mostly dirt route across northern arizona into southern new mexico.

We spent $1800, which included fuel there, back and around town in Moab, hotels @ $100/night there and back and for the Slickrock campground fee for the entire week. Add food and beer and that's what the trip cost.


As for raising money, I think we should have people donate parts and then sell them for a profit at a swap meet of some kind. I have a large pattern knuckle and hub set that I'd donate.

Ive got a set of steel fj60 wheels and front seats in great shape that I will donate to the cause. Im definitely doing the moab trip again.

Rubithon 2013 is approximetly a year away. Just thought I would post up to see if you guys are still going to try to make it out there.

Im still away in a certain 3rd world country with limited internet but would like to start ordering parts to get the 40 ready for next year.

so far this is some of the things i want to order

orion transfer case
metal tec full cage
sliders
ipor belly armor ( not really sure what to call it)
master clutch cylinder
fix parking brake
beefier front bumper with tow points (not sure if there is an after market one out there)
new seats
hinges for tube doors

i figure that while im stuck in this s*** hole i might as well be productive towards getting the cruiser ready.

anything else you guys think i would need for the rubicon?

maybe I could drive up to NC for a long weekend and help me install all the stuff?

anyway dont want to clog up the thread so if you guys prefer i could start a new thread called rubicon vehicle prep or something.
