Heather and I are planning on buying a bigger tow rig and trailer. The car business is slow right now so we have been putting it off. We are looking at a 3 place trailer.

We have talked about it and if we can pull it off we are going to take a couple weeks off and go West. We've never done it and we are both due. IF and I say IF we do this we will have two places available on the trailer.

The logistics involved in transporting a large group of vehicles across the country from point A to B, having someone at point B take delivery, have someone secore the vehicles and contents until the owners arrive, do it all again in the other direction is HUGE!!!!!!

I think that two or three 3 vehicle trailers is all that will be needed. Odds are the driver will have one of the rigs on the trailer. The other owners could fly all the way out to a final destination or if there is room in the tow rigs meet somewhere along the way and see some scenery for a day or two.

I am sure we can find a secure place to leave a few tow rigs and trailers for a week. I believe this method would work out better in the long run. I know for us, we'd be taking 5-7 days to get there. If another trailer wanted to do the same, cool. Taking 6-9 land cruisers cross country to play in the rocks will certainly come with some great memories.

I have places to leave vehicles in the Sacramento area. I think some others have said they have family in cali. Reno/tahoe?

I can always fly out early and meet the cruisers. Gives me time to see the family.

I havent chimed in yet either but i would probably have to go the route of ship truck and fly out. My guess is that when the time came to ship the trucks if we found a transporter on our own and said hey we have 6-8 trucks to transport we could work a pretty good deal.
If it worked out and my wife and daughter could drive with me and we could do a family trip along the way that might be an option but who the hell knows what that scenerio will look like a year and a half from now....

either way i have been talking about either Rubithon or Moab 2013 for my 35th birthday gift to myself for the last year already and have the buy in from my wife so i am excited to see how the plans evolve for this trip.

If we have this many folks from our club out there the LC community would be floored i think.

Just thinking...

So it seems that I will be the only truck that is able to make Moab this year and I am a little saddened by it. Financial setbacks have taken out the possibility of experiencing Cruise Moab with multiple club rigs. Though Johnny is riding with me i'm still feelin kinda lonely:frown:. Looking forward to next year, I hope we can manage to get multiple trucks out to Rubithon. No matter what angle we look at it the trip is gonna be expensive. My thoughts on the matter are to find some way to raise funds on the behalf of this adventure and those who want to participate. Furthermore, would it be feasible to have a trip fund that we can use for club members to get to a single yearly event which may be too far for our members to get to? As a club I think we can come up with something. Even a little impact on the financial hit of each of us is helpful. Any ideas?

We could manufacture and sell these??

Or we could not go to the bar for a few nights and we would have the money.

Mike are u wanting to do fundraisers? Like a carwash or something? What are your ideas?

We would have to check with the powers to be that we as a club can do that. Bylaws and such.

I just figured ramon was paying for the whole trip. Damn no middle finger smiley on my phone.

Bikini car wash perhaps. Through the club I figure it could work like the pig cooker. Whereas we start with all participants chipping in and go from there. The money raised would provide transportation/registration type aid. Even those of us who can't take their own truck could get help with travel cost. Ramon's idea ain't bad. We can think of something. Let's just get some ideas rolling.

We could have meatball do the truffle shuffle for girls at the bikini car wash, lol. That'd bring them in.

What if we catered BBQ events for other organizations? We'll have a pig cooker soon...

Well, Jerry started a good idea with the pint glasses. I think this is a common theme throughout the whole community. If we could do vehicle specific pint glasses, they would sell. I don't want to step on Jerry's idea, as he might have plans to market a full lineup!

With all the parts in everyone's garage and the abilities in the club, we could do a build raffle...

Funny how this came up.

I've been working on a pic I have of J's 45 for a glass (from STR), thinking it would make a great pic for a glass. My idea was to promote additional glasses to stoke the ONSC account, offering them as give-aways at specific events and for sale items for those who missed the event and/or just want a glass.

It would be up to the BOD how they spent any revenue generated by the sale of the glasses...

It would put us on the MAP if we did a build raffle. We have the knowledge, we just need the right truck to start with...

Let's start with a youtube video of the meatball truffle shuffle, then sell beer glasses and shot glasses with the image, then t-shirts, then an ipod playlist called the Meatball Truffle Shuffle, then build a mini 40 like the one that I saw a thread with that ramon found recently that has a white paint job on and call it the meatball mobile and raffle that. Breath........ I think we can do it!!
