Toyota uses the Nachi 6202 NKE for the pilot bearing.
My last two clutch kits (Aisin and LUK) came with a KOYO bearing labeled for Altrom part #0781301

Admittedly the fifth gear change from 4th to 5th feels a little cheesy. Like someone bolted on a fifth gear to the 4 speed and added a linkage.![]()
Drive it a bit and see if you want to retain those 3.7s or not. I have my 60 setup with the H55F and 4.11s and and currently running either the 33s. With this combination in 5th gear at 70 mph the tach sits at 2500 and this seems to be the sweet spot while on the interstate.
That's pretty much what they did!
Glad that she's back together, and most importantly, you're enjoying her![]()
When I did my transmission swap I left the floor plate off too for a day, and watched the clutch fork in amazement. Kinda spooky right?
I think 2500 is the sweet spot as well. Got my best MPG while running that with the H42. I will see how it does. When and If I swap to 4.11's you know I have to throw air lockers in at the same time. It just makes sense. Need a little more $ first lol haha. Thank you sir!
10X1.25 was the original bolt size and pitch.M10x1.25 and M10x1.5 did not match the old bolt. So I've got no idea what pitch it's supposed to be
Best way to swap to 4.11s is to pick up a parts rig 62. That way, in addition, to having the lower gears you can go the 2FE route.![]()
10X1.25 was the original bolt size and pitch.
(I think) the Toyota PN for that bolt is 91651-61040
That's great you got it all buckled up! I remember my maiden voyage way back when too. It's so cool.
Yeah, I'm not sure what I like better, the lower 1st & 2nd & reverse on the H55F or the 5th gear. I also like how it is a quieter transmission than the H42 was. I don't like the bigger gap between 3rd and 4th at all... but you can't have everything. The 2F needs a 6 speed!
I will need to bend the shift lever to accommodate for my 2F "non-clocked" bell housing. 2nd gear is almost to the corner of my driver seat/ where my knee is. The throws of this transmission also seem to be a lot longer than the 4 speed. Or maybe its a longer shift lever. The customization doesn't bother me, it will get done eventually. Unless there is another part number for an H55F shift lever? Maybe it has a different bend?
