those are just character marks .... You are lucky, it doesn't matter where i dent the quarters on my 60 i always bust a tail light lens... But that will soon be fixed....

Notice how nothing was broken. Gas door is fine. Tail light lens is fine. Side marker is fine. Just got some nasty dents.

So today I cleaned my interior a little bit. I had gas receipts from 25,000 miles ago in the center console and various other bits. I washed my drink holder clutter catcher thing. Also cleaned out the factory cup holders. One of them had a melted crayon in it. Probably from 1984. (Most likely from my sister)

I also tried to loosen the screw on my hand throttle knob to rotate it, and completely trashed the head of the screw. Don't know what I'll do about that.

I really need to get some paint on this hunk of metal. Spring break may involve fixing these issues if I have $$

Oh and I know my seatbelt isn't plugged in. It's for an HJ60, the plug is different. It doesn't matter because my seatbelt light turns off almost immediately anyway

On a better note I have bent a front u-bolt for the last time. I'm ordering a U-bolt flip kit from lcwizard when I get my refund money. Just for the front axle. All I can afford right now.

If I think of anything else I'll be sure to ramble here.

Got my front 4Plus U-Bolt flip kit installed. Big shout out to lcwizard for the awesome product, and also to Kurt at Cruiser Outfitters for the OME SB1 bushings.

I had to deal with a broken wheel stud because Discount Tire cross threaded a lug nut. So that added to the expense and install of this stuff.

I need to get the correct lower shock bushings, but for the time being I came up with a redneck fix. I won't embarrass myself with the details. Just know there is no slop at the lower shock mount

Bushings: I was using what I believe to be MAF's poly bushings which some were really worn out. The OME bushings have larger grease channels, narrower collars, greater O.D. collars, and they are yellow

The correct part number for Dorman wheel studs is 610-264. For some reason Dorman lists this part for only 81-83 FJ60's. I emailed them and told them the error. Got an email and they are going to fix it. Side note: Although these studs are a little shorter than stock they still work fine.

Future plans include: Rear u-bolt flip kit. Install already purchased OME bushings in the rear. Maybe some new side panels in the cargo area.

I really really like the u-bolt flip kit. This thing is 80% street use

slight hijack here, sorry. I guess sometimes you have to ask stupid questions to know the basics...what difference does a u-bolt flip make and what about the stock configuration is bending the original bolts? at what point does this become an issue? love your rig by the way, one of my favorite looks

Hey thanks for the compliment. I'll try to explain the best I can.

The u-bolt flip literally takes the whole thing and flips it upside down. So instead of the threaded ends hanging down below the axle they are above it. When I had the stock set-up with my OME I bent like 3 or 4 u-bolts by running them into stuff on the trail. This will not happen anymore because there are no parts to snag on a rock or whatever you find on the trail. Fun fact: I hate trails now because of the body damage I got

My 60 is so smooth down the highway. I think OME, 33's, and a desmogged 2F is the way to go. I can get up to 85mph no problem

Ha! Take it as a sign man. Time to do a SR just so we don't get confused. Although, I just test drove a 40 with a Man-a-Fre SR kit this last week and wasn't impressed with the drivablity and it had some SERIOUS vibes.
Your Cruiser sure looks like it's shedding some paint! Are you gonna keep it blue when you re-paint it? I really like that color.

Yessir. I sure will. I just need some money for it. I want to get it professionally done. Probably single stage, because it's cheaper. It's definitely in need of attention though.

Sunpro Vacuum Gauge

Got a vacuum gauge so I feel cool when I'm driving around. And it was the right price. $15 (Less than $50 for the whole set-up)

Where I tapped in. Already had the 1/8" BSPT to 1/8" NPT there with a plug in it. Bought a 1/8" NPT to 1/4" tube adapter.

Hose installed.

I wanted to add that I tried to tie into the dimmer and failed. One was full brightness and the other was off when you rotated the rheostat, so I moved the wire and just got it to be switched. I never dim the dash anyway haha
