Thanks man. It wasn't the most extreme stuff. I didn't have my GoPro out for the first run where there was actually more challenging stuff. I went down a hill that was crazy steep. Making it up was challenging too. Really loose dirt has zero grip even with a locker.

Not all trails need to be wild, extreme, and A** puckering to enjoy friends and the cruiser. But, it's a must the other 90% to 99% of the time..;)

How do you like the GoPro?
I was thinking about picking one up to get some trail footage once I finish my truck up.

I like it a lot. Only downside is I really only use it when I go wheeling which doesn't happen much.

Although I find ways to do things with the GoPro. It's like a challenge. Tomorrow I'm gonna be on my boss' ranch. Bought a head strap so I can wear it while we do stuff with donkeys, goats, cows, and anything else haha. Should be interesting.

The cost is high but it is a very good quality product. My brother just bought a DSLR. It can do 1080p video but it doesn't autofocus and you can't mount it on things. So this has its advantages :)

I too would spend my money on a Go Pro! One cannot post pics on YouTube

Too much info Bro, but hey, ya gotta get yer degrizee!

Fixed my motor mount.

What I bought. $5.06. Didn't end up using the washers. No sense to take them back for 48 cents haha

Silly studs. I couldn't get them out. I cut them off and then drilled through them. Kinda missed the hole by 1/8" but my new hole is straight so it doesn't matter. Thank goodness my buddy has a drill press!

The finished product.

I didn't have a piece of rubber handy for the bottom but I will add one. Also this new hardware has 19mm heads. Original was 17mm. Thread pitch is also different. Original must be M12x1.5 or smaller. New stuff is M12x1.75

Idle is semi-noticeable. Cruising makes no difference. I figure it'll be okay for now. Just happy I can accelerate again :)

Love that mod. This is the best permanent fix for the broken DS motor mount IMO :D

You should put that in the $50 thread if it's not already there.

It might be. I can't say for sure though.

I'm debating some rear cargo panels. Plastic supplier in town has 48"x48" black HDPE for $25. That is enough to do them. Anyone used HDPE before? Or think that it will be okay to use?

Thanks :)

Well Kline, I know school has prob started back up... BUT, you do anything with the panels yet?

Well not yet. I injured myself and have the semester off of school. So I will have time. Eventually.

You think HDPE is good to use? I'm looking at getting a 10" subwoofer as well. Just gotta plan it all out.

PS. Thanks for checkin on me :)

Kline I think HDPE is better than ABS for panels etc.. ABS is used for blow molds etc.. where rigidity on thinner objects/projects are needed, (dash panel, etc..)

HDPE will offer a strong yet flexible panel. HDPE will hold up to the heat better IMO. I'm pretty sure KR uses HDPE for his WagonGear products. Maybe PM him and see or look at his site. Maybe it'll say what his are made of.

I would use HDPE, its pretty easy to work with. I'd look at using a 3/16" or 1/4" material base thickness personally. Anything less will be a little too flimsey for a good solid cargo panel.

J

J thanks for the feedback. I need to price 3/16" and see how much more it is. I was planning on adding reinforcement for the subwoofer because it probably will need it anyway.

I thought 1/8" originally because of how I want to hold it down. Similar to how TacDoc did it on here (red fj60) I like the look.

Anywho. Just rambling...

Hey Kline, HDPE is really easy stuff to work with, cuts like a wood product but with no grain. You can get really nice parts by making a template (out of anything like masonite, plywood, etc) and then using a bearing bit on a router to trim the HDPE to size, really turns out nice stuff.

As J. says though, you really need to use some thick stuff, 1/4 at least, and then with planing to put a sub in there..... even that will flex too much, you would have to make sure it is really stable, and by that point you might be better off going with plywood and wrapping it with vinyl.

If someone wanted sub panels out of HDPE I would be looking at using the 1/2" stuff like I do on the tailgate lids.

Also, keep in mind that the non-marine grade stuff is not nearly as temperature stable (thinking about TX here...) and will warp much more in high temps and direct sunlight.

Kevin thanks for your insight. Saved me a PM haha.

The sub I'm thinking will get reinforced by MDF or something from behind. Hopefully not too ghetto but I fully realize the panel isn't enough to hold it. I'll probably go with a thinner material because of how it fits in the car and then reinforce where it is needed.

Thanks again for your insight. It means a lot!

This is not the biggest update but it made me happy so I thought I would share :)

Got a new radio. Kenwood KDC352U. It has like 24 different colors to choose from. Keep in mind I have LED's in some of my dash. The inclinometer does. It's all you can see in these photos. I need to take some night shots.

My whole stack:

Radio, inclinometer, power inverter

And this coozie is awesome. Tuckington Industries.

Biggest problem is I injured myself while riding a motorized board on the street. Not supposed to drive until I see the neurologist again. (I hit my head pretty good) At least that is what my parents want me to do. I'm being babysat pretty much. 21 years old and my parents still love me. That's a good feeling I guess. To all you Dads and Moms out there thank you. Also if anyone works in a Hospital... I've been there too many times, thank you as well.

Sorry to ramble guys. There was a lot of tech in this post

Alex, how did you take the good news of having a new radio?

I remember your dad asking you in the hospital what kenwood box you had in your passenger seat and you told us you had not bought a new radio yet  (wasn't funny at the time)

glad you are doing better! If you miss doing homework let me know and i'll send some your way

You butt-munch!

Just kidding!

It is in fact funny now. Funny how hitting your head can screw things up.

Thanks for the kind wishes. And I don't need any homework to do. I'm plenty content where I am. Just want to drive my cruiser again. And then I actually have things to do. Replace clutch master and clutch line. Funnnnnn

(just so the rest of you are in the loop we know each other personally. I felt the need to say this. No idea why :) )

Try some EarthQuake SWS subs. They sound fantastic.;)

Benjaman. Those do look nice but appear to be a bit out of my price range! College student budget here :)

I like how you have yours mounted up though. Very slick. I bet you can shake your interior pretty good too.

What's up Alex!
Hope you're doing okay, and back behind the wheel soon!

Danny
