cheers.

Ouch! So what was the cause of bearing failure?

Impressive photos - thanks. I've seen far sorrier 'rookie rebuilds' than that one!

Doing the same now, curious to see the the header paint will last I would like to hit mine up but I think I might just wrap them and paint the tops

well i think the write up is done..i will edit if i forget or need to add anything.

at some point i'll have some vids up too, fingers crossed.

Huge thanks to Wayne and his wife for being amazing hosts! every single wrenching day was really quite relaxing, enjoyable, entertaining, educational, and fun..and it did feel like i was at the Cruiser Spa.... I learned a tonne, not just about the intricacies of a rebuild and knowing how to use tools efficiently and safely, but a lot on patience, not cutting corners, taking a time out when it was needed..and working smart not hard...all because i was next to one awesome land cruiser specialist, and for that, i will always be greatful for. you da man Crushers!

i think it should be fine. imho, the wrap might become more of a nuissance if things get loose and unravelled, let alone it'll soak up water/mud and just steam up on you.
