roof rack - anyone tried this one?

Had something similar made by Yakima on our Subaru. For that size, I'd just get one of the canvas cases that straps to the current rack.

What does it attach to..., existing factory crossmembers??? If so, that seems a little scary to me.

it looks like a rood-mounted launch pad to me. your gear is going to be riding on slats that run fore and aft with no lateral bars above the load floor for support. the load will be held in place entirely by your tie downs. in my books, that's not ideal.
