Cat guard on the White Knuckle slider hangs down kind of low and looks like it would hang up on rocks. I'm thinking about cutting it off. The cat that's on there is tucked up high.

Do it!

Major running issues have mainly been sorted out and I began driving it some today, mainly on the farm but a short run up the road. I think the kick down cable needs adjusting and I have an intermittent recurring high idle issue. Cold the idle is ca. 6-700 but on occasion once warmed up and driven some the idle will pop up to 1200.

@cruiserinsanity bought a couple of 1980s pickups recently and we needed to pull one off the utility trailer. This '82 has a rear axle but not shafts or wheels so we used the tractor to lift the rear and then pull the trailer from under the pickup. 80 handled this short trailer towing well.

I think I'm over the hump with major issues with this 80 and it's now down to sorting out small things to make it more driveable and useable.

I suspect that it hangs low because it is the style for the '93-94 where it has a deep double cat and this is why the skid is like that. It may have a '95+ style cat so the skid could be higher. That is my situation. I've thought about cutting and modifying mine, but haven't gotten that far.

Replaced the rear lock actuator in the rear hatch yesterday. Used this part number. Now all doors and the rear hatch lock. Linkage within the upper hatch is not that difficult to unattach and reattach. Just pay attention to how the actuator bracket is oriented.
