How does this aluminum bumper hold up when going up, over , and down rock ledges? Any one gave any hard use experience with it?

We didn’t have anybody sharing with us hard use experience on our bumpers in general except for hitting massive kangaroos in Australia (with other models we have). This is 1/4 thick alloy though with internal reinforcements welded in, mounted to our steel winch mount which is also serves as a main structure of this bumper. Sled crash tested in Australia before release.

Love this bumper. So it is available in white? Or was this bumper painter by the customer?
We supply them and have them in stock in textured black powder coating. Color matching is usually done by installers or end users.

I've dragged my 1/4" aluminum belly skid (and front skid). They gall (rough scratches, wide triangular void profile). Didn't penetrate any of them and the damage was superficial. I also bent/severely dented an aluminum front skid and had to retire it. Replaced it with a steel front. In general, the AL will not fare as well as steel on repeated impact kind of uses. AL is stiff and can break, Steel is bendy and tends to dent. That's a generalization.

Aluminum can be bendy too. The Al wing of my rear bumper is tweaked from hard hits.

i see a lot of photos of this bumper on the internet in white, and silver. But if I want those colors, I have to have it sand blasted and re-powdercoated, is that correct? I know I shouldn’t care about putting a black bumper on my 200, but it’s kind of our beauty queen. I still have my FJ60 for the rough stuff. I want to keep the 200 with the white look. may sound silly, but that’s what I want anyway.

Maybe just paint it? There's nothing wrong with the factory powdercoat, and you have to touch up paint it anyway with use. Treat the current coating as a primer and make it silver or white.

I dont know a lot about powedercoating, but I read that it is necessary to sandblast before you powedercoat So that you can get good adherence. I want powdercoat because I do do expect to use this truck and powder coating does hood up better to rubbing and scraping.

You can absolutely powde rcoat directly over the black powder coating
