@jeep2cruiser and @grinchy (and anyone else running this bumper) now that you guys have had it for a little while, are you still happy with it overall? Was going to DM and ask the same, but figured others might be interested as well.

I genuinely love mine. The fit and finish is awesome, fits the body lines well and has treated me well off road. I swapped from an ARB bumper and I can tell a big difference in how the truck performs due to weight (steering is lighter, less movement over bumps).

I’ve installed two of these now (mine and my buddies) and they’re actually pretty easy, especially compared to the ARB.10/10 would recommend! Have no regrets.

Anyone had a deer strike with one of these? That's my hesitation in getting this vs a TJM.

I like the look of it, but do have some issues with it.
  • The Headlight washer nozzles didn't fit correctly. I ended up snapping some of the plastic ears off of each one of the squirters. The problem is that the aluminum is too thick for the snap features to work correctly. Also, one of the metal mounting tabs didn't line up with the corresponding tab on the squirter assembly.
  • I seem to have some metal-to-metal rubbing on mine even with a good-sized gap. I need to adjust it some more.
  • The edge trim that was included with the bumper comes off too easily. I ended up removing it and might swap in a different profile.

For the trim piece, make sure that the metal inside the trim is what’s clamping onto the the designated spot. To keep mine from coming up, I put a pea sized dot of super glue. Haven’t had an issue since.

Where is the metal rubbing?

Rubbing between the side wings and the sheet metal on the body.

It's also really close to some tabs sticking off of the headlights.

@wingnutted there is essentially no height limit. 12” still had room. The sheet metal in vertical in front of the radiator might be in the way, but probably not and easy to bend out of the way.

The limit on height is probably what you can reach thru the access slot in front of the bumper to reach the clutch. If you plan to reach down thru the hood latch you’re good likely at any height.

I have an lx, but think it’s the same for either.

I'll let you know after I install the skids.

I'm exploring a different approach to the headlight washers. One is using a snap-in cover with adjustable nozzles. No fancy pop-up but you will still have the capability to clean the headlights.

I also added the edge trim and installed some cheap fogs from Amazon.

I realized this morning (while I was asleep) that the squirters might not work and will just let the fluid leak out. I might need a valve mechanism of some sort. Hmm.
