I received my Rival bumper for the 2013 LC200, it was a super easy process with a really helpful truck driver - took it off the pallet on the truck and backed up the LC to the truck lift gate and slide the whole unit into the back of the LC.

So, while I figure out who is going to re-paint or powdercoat the bumper to match my blizzard pearl LC, considering winches.

The Rival website has limited info on winch fitting. Hoping someone here that has already gone down this path can offer suggestions for one that fits well and gets the job done.

Just ordered the Rival and also planning on painting it BWP :)

Re winch it seems Rival has tons of space. I will be looking into Carbon winches to keep weight down.

It has quite a bit of room actually in the winch cradle.

I used the Ironman 4x4 winch, and put the control box behind the front grill. If you order the ‘small box’ it’ll come with a smaller control box.

i looked at specs on a bunch of winches, but in the end I went with a slightly less spec winch that was $300 cheaper. Seems like a good move for me, as I haven’t had to use it in anger.

Here’s my favorite winch post and somewhere is a table with all the winches I looked at, probably on my build thread.

I'd never heard of Carbon winches until I went to the link in the post below yours. Really helpful thread.

Thanks! Super helpful. Reading now.

Australian brand, they seem to have been around for a while, and their stuff is both lighter and cheaper. No hands-on experience.
I was just looking at Carbon winches, and they don't mention anything about winch control - wired, remote, etc. My experience is all with basic Warn gear that I moved from Jeep to Jeep. So, I'm a little out of touch.

Looks like carbon has landed their full lineup stateside since I last looked. And only $750 for the winch, it was $1k if I recall a couple years ago. Pretty compelling.

I looked thru a really big Australia hosted message board style site with winch reviews and experience on it, most informative on what companies were actually honoring warranty claims, which winches failed in water etc. pretty much only Ironman, Runva, Carbon, and a couple others were honoring warranty. Not surprisingly the full Chinese brands and surprisingly some Major brands (warn came up) basically had no warranty support in actuality.

I low key wish I’d stayed the course and bought the lighter Carbon, but chose $ savings at the time.

Well, I might go for the Carbon 12k.

Well, bought the Carbon 12k winch. As soon as I get it, and the bumper installed, I'll go get myself stuck and do a short write up on it. :)

One issue about Carbon is they are Ozzie, and Australian companies support in the US can be spotty (like TJM), but who knows. Maybe ARB ends up buying them...

Interesting. I have always used Warn (since 1987) and they have been quick to respond to questions and parts orders. Never had a warranty claim but I have had to replace 2 motors due to water/ sand intrusion. The ones I own could definitely have better water seals.

Have you had a chance to use your Carbon yet?
I'm still waiting for the bumper powdercoating to be finished. This is New Mexico, things move really slowly here, plus, the guy local to me gave me this bs "oh, we were unable to sand blast the old powdercoating off the bumper". I looked at the bumper, no signs of having ever been sandblasted even a bit. Sigh. I miss living near people that actually want to do the work.
