they are tucked in nicely behind my clacking engine in the lx ;).

I'll swap ya a nice new denso fan clutch for your old engine, rebuilt, and swapped in. sounds like a fair trade, doesnt it?

Deal.

(I plan to use the Ebay definition of "rebuilt" which means I filled the crankcase with 90W gear oil)

sawdust too, right? to insulate it from the cold

Last item in need of attention ... priming the oil galleys so we wouldn't be doing a dry start. Early chevies had it made ... stick a long shaft into the oil pump via distributor hole and spin it up with a drill. Toyota uses a gear driven pump so something different had to happen. I decided I was going to use an external pump to feed oil in through the filter boss.

The funny part ... I want to make a fitting to screw onto the filter threads. The threads are SAE ... 3/4 x 16. I think, heck, I got that. After 20 minutes of digging all I have is ONE 3/4 x 16 nut and it's a castle nut! Dang it.

Well, it ain't a castle nut no more....

Welded on a piece of iron pipe ....

And now have a fitting...

Oil priming ... part II

The pump I used is an old 1fz power steering pump. Took off the gear and turned it with a drill.

^^ $500 SST right there folks! Very creative :)

Pretty slick @Rice I had to make similar for pre lubing the Vortec and LS motors for the same reason. I used a SBC oil pump in a 5 gallon bucket.

I gave some thought to the chevy oil pump idea but was too lazy to go hunting down whatever box I have one stored in. This is plan b.

I believe version 2.0 of this SST needs to tap into the drain of the oil pan so I can circulate as much oil as I want.

Here ya go, drilled and tapped extra plug. I use my system every couple of months or so, so I figured long term.

That's the ticket. And once you're done with it your turbo oil can drain there. :D

Snowpocalypse be dayumed. This thing is going in tomorrow!

(And, from the looks of it, school closures will give me a couple extra days to tune :hillbilly:)

Well I believe that was a pan seared scallop in an endive spoon with an herb cream sauce ..... borderline rover life but I wasn't complaining

Wow. Great eats at Rice's garage. Pretty soon the word will get out and you two will be serving up engine rebuilds and catered install parties.
