I priced out building one like the LabRak or front runner and it ended up not being worth my time to build it myself.[/QUOTE]

x2...steel, plus tax, and powder coat was around $600. It would have been a nice rack, with around 40 man hours I estimated...

I picked up the front runner earlier in the week and I got it installed this morning.

It did take me some time to finish the Assembling the rack, around 6 hours total. However, the rack is built Exceptionally well and I could not be happier with the product.

Nice.

Any problems w/ the rear wing w/ the hatch up??

It also looks like on the v2 that they added a second set of feet in the middle. More carrying capacity?

Yes, I wanted to delete the rear wing so I will be doing shortly. You can set up the rack more forward so you won't have to get rid of the wing.

The carrying capacity is 660lbs. I don't know how that Compares to the earlier version.

If anyone is interested in purchasing on, The Slimline II rack actually stands Even with my previous stock roof rack at the center, at the highest point it is 4.5 inches from the roof.

Looks great, so many nice rack options out there.

Absolutely, so many different styles, prices and manufacturers.

Any pics you can share? I'd like a full roof rack but am already close to my garage door height with larger tires and no lift.

I hope these pictures help.

The rack actually sits lower at the center than before. However the outer edges are higher. it is a total gain by of about an inch. If you have at least 2 inches of clearance now, it shouldn't be a problem.

My bad...I didn't realize the FR and Slim line are one in the same. Should have paid closer attention....Sorry.

Looks good. I'll have to go out and measure and figure where this fits in with everything else I plan to do.

Thanks.

No worries. Nice dog!

Does that little faring block the wind noise?

Yes, I drove on the highway for one hour with no noticeable difference. If I open the sunroof then it's very noticeable.

Does anyone have a photo of how a RTT exactly attaches to the front runner roof rack. (I got Tepui tent) and will need to do the install next week.

I don't know the specifics for a Tepui, but after speaking with Front Runner, they got me into a set of tent supports. Basically it gets the tent up 1/2", and hold the tent to the rack.

Added bonus is that it does away with my 8 u-bolts right now, and goes to just 4 bolts for affixing the tent to the leg supports.

Very knowledgable crew over there... Just give a call if no one else chimes in.

Put my FRunner on today. Couldn't be happier with the fit, finish and looks.

Bought several different accessories, and they all bolted right on no sweat. Modular functionality with the rail/bolt system is awesome.

Rack was a little pricey, which is why it took me so long to pull the trigger, but now I see why it costs a little more. Great product.

Sent from my iPhone using IH8MUD, and hopefully approved by the NSA.
