My anodize plater has a Trivalent Chromate Plating in clear and gold, see pic. I send them a sample to clear over today. So curious if it's as "chrome-like" as they say it is.

Please chrome! I would pay 200. Honestly a NICE like new set of oem plastic vents would probably cost close to that. These 60 parts are insanely expensive

Chrome - factory original Toyota I think is most sensible to keep. Plenty of people have painted mirrors black, front fender vents and grill...it takes away from the 60 series classic styling I believe when the chrome is covered or removed.

I'd want raw Alum or black for fender vents.. Did you have a pre-order on these? How did I miss it? :crybaby:

I got my set in bare aluminum because I’m not sure how I want to finish them yet. The plastic ones on my truck are faded black but I don’t know if they were chrome and lost all their coating or originally black.

The final 3D printed fender vent model. It'll go to the mill next week.

The long curve and the back side pin placement was a challenge but we got it dialed in along with almost an identical perimeter match of the OEM vent and OEM fender cutout.

Happy Holidays guys!

Before and after's. Super nice! Better than OEM and if they were painted to match the OEM's the lame man couldn't tell unless you told them. I was excited when I saw the first mock up glad you got these done. Thanks Jason!

Yep I had forgotten that you were at the shop the day after I cut the first idea vent. It came a long way from that day.

Oh... Nice antenna mount by the way! HA!

Having replaced outside window felts with black oem alternative, removed chrome glass lock strips for black lock strips, black powder coated the handles, removed snake blinders and chrome roof gutter trim moulding, painted grill and head lamp door/trim and installed black anodized Trail Tailor D pillar vents, my order will be for black anodized.
Even so, I would be more than happy to contribute to the original OEM chrome finish effort, save J and A the travel to Vegas and go on your behalf.

Cheers J

Partial hijack :)

Do you have a part number for the OEM black window felts. Also, will the black lock strip fit in place of the OEM chrome strip on the windows? Or do I need new window rubber for all the windows

I've been out of town for 5 days so i'm looking forward to picking up my D pillar vents from my mail center!
I went with the black ano finish for my silver FJ60 (stock condition) and was going to order the fender vents in black ano as well but now second guessing that decision based on recent comments on this thread. I just took a few minutes looking at FJ60 pics online and it looks like the D pillar vents came stock in a gun metal'ish darker color vs chrome color on original fender vents - they never matched. Is that correct?
Any of you that ordered black ano D-pillar vents still going chrome on the fender vents?
Already been said multiple times but hats off to Trail Tailor for his excellent work here!
