Three came off easily. One I had to beat the heck out of with hammer and chisel.
New Globes arrived today. Total cost including VAT and multiple little shipping charges was $691.89. Pretty good compared to what the local dealer quoted me of $4786.86. That is crazy.
Got mine too! Can’t wait to get them on. Just one stubborn globe I had to walk away from last night.
So, after waiting over two years I stumbled across this post and bit the bullet for a new set of four globes. What a deal from Impex! My LX has 117xxx miles but the globes only return 6-7 graduations so this is long overdue.

I might hop on this deal too from Impex, that is an incredible deal. Cheapest i got was 950 shipped from ebay, that's after using like 20 coupons and begging seller to give me a good deal. I dont' even think i need it, truck smooth as butter, but she's got 220K on it and i think she deserves some new globes.
Without me having to go back and read through all 8 pages, can someone 'concisely' explain how this 'Ipex' thing works. I'm a bit confused and what (if any) are the risks?
I definitely will, when I first purchased the vehicle I did a fluid swap & bleed with hopes of prolonging the life of the tired globes/helping ride quality. End of the day I think there’s only so much you can do when they’re past the service life- fluid was low when I bought it so I attribute that to loss of nitrogen charge/rupture.
So how I interpreted this whole process (and how the procedure translated on their website) is as follows- you pay for the order, they quote you shipping once they have product (if not in stock), then they fulfill/ship the order after that. I used PayPal to add an additional layer of protection, but based on previous replies it seems like a fairly simple process and for the price break, I’m willing to give it a shot.
Neutral pressures is what will prolong the life of your globes, if you overwork them, they'll blow out sooner rather than later. Make sure you are in spec front and rear.
Impex is a Japanese parts dealer, like Amayama. Just has great prices, I tried them out, had success. Looks like prices have dropped since I purchased a month ago - perhaps the yen is dropping against the dollar.

I was scammed a couple of years ago on a too-good-to-be-true floor jack, and it took a while to follow all their dispute procedures (basically, set times allowed for the other party to respond), but PayPal sent my money back to me.
For sure- when I did the initial bleed and fluid change, I loaded tech stream and cranked my TB’s to dial in neutral pressure for the front. Rears in spec too, this should really help!
I should add that my biggest concern was whether the globes could be shipped internationally. They are under pressure, and the Impex site not only says that some items like that can’t be shipped internationally, they won’t refund purchases to people who order stuff that can’t be shipped internationally!
I sent them a question about the globes, they assured me they could send them via EMS or DHL (but ended up offering me FedEx). With that assurance and with PayPal, I decided to go for it. Got the parts without any issue. Several others here have also had success.

Legit copies of techstream are intended only for dedicated repair shops and are thousands of dollars. Since it's not a product aimed at consumers, yet it's a requirement for a wide variety of repairs, it's readily available in bootlegged form. You can d/l from the thread above or buy a cable with software from Amazon/ebay.
It's a little bit odd since it's not normal consumer software, but once you get it installed and running it's a very valuable tool.
IF you don't want to run a bootleg version of Techstream.....this scanner will let you read ABS and AHC codes as well as monitor real time.
It won't do every single thing T/S will do.....but is pretty inclusive.

Took the plunge on the globes from Impex as well a few days back. Just received my shipping quote and made payment. Really looking forward to receiving these. My globes appear to be the originals and I only got around ~5 graduations when testing, so this should be a nice upgrade.
