How much fluid did you use?

I did the @PADDO thing and put under three liters in. Everything was pure and pink on the final bleed. Here’s what came out/was replaced:

I bled all five after the new globes were on and it was very briefly (first couple of seconds) a little bubbly on all the corners, but not much.

$658 shipped for a full set. That's amazing. Makes me want to buy a few sets to have on hand and resell to mud members. I cringe at the folks that get suckered into a set of 4 at local dealers that charge close to the MSRP which is ~$4,000.

The shipping quote once you order might be different. The process is make the order and submit payment, wait for a shipping quote (I was offered DHL or FedEx), pay the shipping separately.

There’s some pretty scary language about not refunding orders that can’t be shipped (and they list the kinds of things they can’t, and globes certainly seem like they could be on it), but I had confirmed they’d ship the globes before I ordered.

Ah good point. Looks like gas chambers are not shippable by EMS, which is the shipping cost they provide. Still though.... unless shipping via FedEx is $500+, that seems like a great deal.

Since this seemed to be too good to be true, I was braced for a big shipping charge ($100s), but it was about $80 $90.

If only I had known about impex 2 months ago! I went the plaedes route instead. I’m happy with the results, but would definitely have gone OEM at the same price.

impex will be my source whenever I need to replace the brake MC and booster.

Saw your post about new globes. I was wondering how they turned out and if there were any problems or surprises? In particular, were there any other costs like duty that you had to pay on top of the cost of the globes? How long did it take to get them. It does seem scary sending the money without a way of tracking the inventory from a company across the pacific.

In a word, they’re fantastic. So glad I did this.

I used the same Auto Zone Ford Fan Clutch Wrench that @DanInDenver mentioned, above. Three of the globes slipped right off, needed a hammer and chisel against the fat part of the old globe for the last one. Took a bit of effort. Threading the new globes was a pain, they're heavy, you're tired at that point, and you're wriggling your hands up into a confined spot. But that was it - it's a very easy job.

My all-in cost was $726.18, including the shipping. If there were any import taxes included in that, I didn’t notice them specified.

Took two weeks from order to my door. They provided a FedEx tracking number, so I followed it across the Pacific and North America. There were a few days between my order and their follow-up with the calculated shipping charge, and a few days after I paid that before the tracking number.

Just ordered my new globes today. Let's see how it goes. How long before they contact you about shipping?

* Ordered 11:30 am eastern time Monday, Nov. 23.
* Received request for shipping instructions at 2 am Friday, Nov. 27
* Received request for a bit more shipping $$* at 12:21 am Tuesday, Dec. 1
* Received FedEx tracking number at 1 am Wednesday, Dec. 2
* Received package in rural North Carolina at 4:45 PM Monday, Dec. 7

* The request was for an additional $4.39! I paid it that morning, although there was some sort of annotation on the order that suggested the manager had OK’d shipping anyway. (Given the piddling amount, I was happy to pay).

Edit to add: The first delay appeared to be because IMPEX waited to get the parts on hand themselves. The request for shipping instructions also included the notice that the parts had arrived at its warehouse.

I ordered mine from impex 6 days ago. No request for shipping yet and the order still says it’s processing. I just emailed thei info@impex address for an update. Will keep this updated.

Same with me. I ordered mine on Jan 8. However expecting something next week.

Well, this really made my day. Got the last one off this morning.

Graduations test now at 15 (at least), all the looseness in the car handling is gone, and unexpectedly, my rear end is now in sync - the driver's side had been lower.

Job was not that hard (for an obvious beginner). Toughest part was getting the new globes into the threads.
did you use the hammer and chisel method or the extended PB blaster? I have to take mine off and I am worried that they are not going to want to come off.
