It’s not that simple. PM sent, with more in depth explanation.

jLB - any chance you would share that info with me as well? TIA

My solution, for people not local to me, is not terribly elegant. I setup a VirtualBox VM of Techstream, on my old/obsolete 2012 MacBook Air as documented here:

Figuring that a minimal system is an easier match. I then connected to my 2006 LX470 (that did not have the B1797 issue), and proceeded to do the download procedure. Once that was complete, I put the VM “to sleep, and zipped up the files associated with that VM. For people that have an old Intel based Mac laying around, it seems to work fairly effortlessly. For people with Windows based machines, they seem to run into “path too long” and “core count” issues.

I have a pretty simple request, could someone with a Windows laptop, running the “How to TechStream in 5 minutes” VirtualBox VM, and has a 06-07 LC/LX without the B1797 issue, do the same thing that I have done?

This would allow those without an Intel Mac to have an equally easy solution, without the pain of troubleshooting the Mac —> Windows problems.

I’m more than happy to continue answering questions, and/or host the file, but I’m not highly motivated to drag a desktop to my driveway, buy a modern Windows laptop, or try to load TechStream on a “locked down” corporate laptop.

The other simple solution, for those that don’t want to fight/troubleshoot my self inflicted Mac —> Windows issue, would be grabbing a cheap used old MacBook.

No association to me, but as an example:

Might try the Launch Creader Elite. I found this thread due to B1797 code on my URJ201. In my case the Zero Point Reset process (seat all the way back, front tilted up, rear all the way down, seat-back fully upright, then activate the zero point reset) was able to clear the B1797 and B1650 codes. However, the menu for this also gave the option to copy the current seat ECU in preparation for writing those files to a newly-installed seat ECU. So it appears to have the same functionality for this as TechStream.

The download/upload is fairly easy when you have 2 vehicles in the same driveway, using a single device. It seems to get more complicated when you’re trying to do the download in one place, and the upload in another.

jLB! Thanks for doing this for people. This is the issue I’m having if anyone has any tips. I’m able to open the VM now with no problems, but when I start the upload process is says “Lost communications with the vehicle” I’m guessing that the VM is not recognizing my cord so I ordered the Xhorse brand cord since I saw this software downloaded in the VM. It’s doing the same thing with this cord. Anyone have any tips?

Update: I found someone locally to download the file from. I went through the setups and attempted to clear the codes. They would not clear. Does this mean the ECU is bad? I found in receipts that the previous owner had the dealership replace the ECU a few years ago. That’s why I wanted to try first without replacing it. At this point should I try the calibration or do I need to go ahead and replace it and repeat the download?

Hi guys- I did the seat calibration this weekend. After that the DTC codes were able to be erased after. No airbag light and I didn’t have to buy another ECU!! 🙌🏻
