So i recently found out that my FJ had the rear fender wells cut out (UGH). Its been in the family since new and I never noticed until a recent conversation with the original owner (dad). After closer look and comparing the fender wells with photos found on the Internet, I have determined that approx 1 1/2 inch +/- has been cut out of each side.
I am removing the tub from the frame in late Jan/early Feb as it needs some metal work in several places. My question is: what is the best way to fix this? Is there a template that I can buy with the stock dimensions of the fender well or do I just guess the approximate metal that has been removed.
I would rather it be done now then wish it were done after assembly.
Suggestions appreciated.
