Rear fender support bracket (1 Viewer)

Here is a pic of my rear under fender bracket. I believe the smaller of the 2 bolts is for the jump seat. Anyone fancy a guess on the purpose of the larger bolt?

Year and month of the 40. Location on the fender well. If a seat belt anchor bolt will be fine thread.

Thanks for the reply. Jan. 75. Here is a shot of the right rear wheel well. Interestingly the front bracket only has the smaller bolt and a hole for the larger one. Might be PO in that the bolt is 7/16 20. The smaller one is M8 1.25.

I think this was discussed in another thread DOT requirement on larger/SAE bolt size due to seat belt anchor point..
