Excuse me if this is a silly post, but I have an actual front diff lock indicator on my instrument panel. If you have this, wouldn't you prefer to have that indicate when your ARB front locker is engaged instead of the "replace air filter" indicator?

2000 and later land cruisers have VSC and ATRAC so the indicators are used for those functions. Take a look at my post here http://tlcfaq.com/main/2012/05/factory-switch-to-control-air-lockers-part-2/, scroll to img 3135 (mid page) and you can see the back of the instrument console closeup. The lights that say VSC and VSC off are where your rear locker light is.

The empty slot in that photo is where i installed the indicator bulb and it happens to be the clogged air filter position. In my opinion that indicator seems like a a decent representation of a compressor function. Via the fog light switch installed the compressor can be activated separately for airing up tires etc. In your case you have an electric locker so no compressor needed.

Ahhhhh ok. Got it. Who needs the clogged air filter indicator anyway? Just change it often and you're good. Cool.

Moab or Bust!!

Welp, I did it! Made the drive to Moab from Houston, TX. Took me 18 hours with an overnight stop in ABQ, NM and finished the last 6 hours the following day. I must say, WOW....4.88s are incredible, I was thoroughly impressed with how little downshifting it did while in cruise control going through some of the mountain passes. I will be here in Moab for a good while (~month) so if you are around please feel free to give me a shout! Saw a pretty sweet 80 series at Eddie McStiffs last night not sure who drove it though. I have some pictures I will post up here most likely tomorrow and will continue to add more pictures as the extended stay continues. I will most likely take Long Canyon up to work around Dead Horse one day if the weather continues to stay nice and dry. Stay tuned!

The journey began....

Blueberry!!

I do not know how I lucked out. I was just preparing to buy new from Slee on my way home from Moab to Houston, but for some reason I decided to pull up Houston Craigslist and give it a shot searching for bumpers. Low and behold in Houston, TX a guy was given a Slee Blueberry as payment bc someone owed him some money. Thank you whoever you are! My dad went and grabbed it for me today as he was the only one I trusted transferring the cash. The best part. Brand new, Paid $1000!

:flipoff2:

Can't wait to get back home and bust the grinding wheel out to install this thing!! :wrench:

Also as payment for whatever was owed to this guy he also has a NEW Mt. Rainier RTT ($1695 MSRP) for $1000 and a ARB Snorkel I believe he wants 300$ for that. If anyone is interested I can get you his contact information. Located in Houston, TX. I figured I would pass on the information to someone on the forum.

Glad you picked it up, I posted it in the classifieds last week and would have thought it would have moved pretty quickly.

Also I think I saw you at westheimer and Dunlavy a couple days after Christmas,

Well s***... I wanted a blueberry so badly and this was well within my price range. Congrats on the purchase Reno

Nice score, Reno! Great bumper.

Were you parked along the side of the road close to Empire Cafe? Green LC with armor? If so awesome ride dude, I was pointing it out to my fiance and she didnt share the same excitement I did but what did I expect! I live right there off Shephered btw.

Thanks guys I'm pretty stoked.

On another note. Finally got rid of my tinted tail lights....I hated them soooo much I couldnt stand to look at them...I had my new ones delivered to me here in Moab so ill put some pictures up tomorrow of the new look...I had a fog light burn out otw to Moab as well, so I have some pure yellow Putco bulbs coming. Going to see how I like the yellow look and if I want to go with some yellow fogs on the blueberry. Anyone with yellow fogs on a aftermarket bumper? Let me see em!!

P.S. - Do I get to add my Blueberry in my sig now? Or is that ONLY after I get it installed and pictures up? :p

What did you do with the tinted tail lights?

Sent from my iPhone using IH8MUD while navigating gnarly trail. Typos are inherent.

Still have them I was just waiting to get back home and I was going to put them on eBay. They are really nice, crazy bright, and all Phillips LEDs. I just decided it was not the way I wanted to go, and bought the same brand just clear. If you would like them I will let them go for cheap just let me know bud! They were on my car for a very short period of time as well. If you want them I can also ship them from Moab since I have them on me, just wanted to wait to be home if they end up going on eBay.

Nice score on the Blueberry!

Seems like every time I look . . . well, nuthin!

Looking forward to more pics. <hint, hint/>

Well I apologize it has been so long since posting last and leaving you hanging a bit. A ton is going on right now, I am home for periods of time and away for equal time with work, and with all of that we are planning a wedding which is coming in Oct. and coming out of our pockets so this build will obviously be taking its time.

Last time I left you guys I had just purchased the Slee Blueberry from a local guy in Houston, well here is the whole process!!!

First: I removed the plastic bumper bolts securing it to the sub bumper and body of the vehicle, this exposed the sub bumper.

A good buddy and co worker of mine lets me use his and his friends shop. It's more than just a shop IMO though....Here is the Blueberry waiting for its install!!!!

The sub bumper is held on by a few bolts that are easily accessible, once these were removed this exposed the frame mounting plates....were going to cut these off...hopefully without any boo boos....

Here is a picture of the plate/bracket that you have to remove in order to mount the Blueberry. Cutting along the welds with an grinder worked great for me! After that I went over the spots with a smoothing wheel.

Here it is after it was cut off, smoothed, and painted with Rustoleum Semi Gloss Black

Can you spot the finished product?! Well at this point let me tell you there is a lot more things involved in the install of this bumper. After temporarily mounting it you have to carefully align the bumper correctly and mark two holes through the side of the bumper. You then VERY CAREFULLY drill two holes all the way through your bumper. This part was very attention demanding I guess you would say so the pictures pretty much stopped at that point and it was 100% hands-on until the job was done! Hope you guys enjoyed the few pictures....

I know I can't leave you with that last picture. So after the install I went back to work in Moab, but this time equipped and more prepared for some exploring! Here is a little preview of the 100 and a good bumper shot, before dropping into Hell's Roaring Canyon?, we found north of 313 towards Dead Horse Point.

Stay tuned! I will update soon here with more pictures of the adventure and more I had in Moab this last time I was there! Here is a preview of what to is come!

Fins N Things video I shot, first ever video edit I have done.

cool build and nice video, I like it.

Thanks man much appreciated! Sure wish I could get that back bumper soon especially with the Slee being on sale right now. Of course some type of other expense comes up first. So it looks like I will be in the market for some 16" wheels and some new tires as mine are getting close to the end of their life but I still have a little time. I am going to have to do something with the AHC system as well as it has gone into low mode a few times on me while wheeling and been a real PITA. So I'm not sure what should come next or first. Any suggestions from the forum?

Well, after doing a little more wheeling out here in Moab, I started to realize how nice it would be to be able to air down and air back up after the trail run instead of having to drive all the way into town to air back up after wheeling if there are no other vehicles or we are w/o air. So I went off to my local hardware shop to get some air fittings. Here is what I came up with on my OBA system. I have been thinking about plumbing a slider and using it as a tank as a few of you have done but that will come one day when I get a bug to tinker I'm sure. BTW with this new forum layout is it better to attach the full image or just the thumbnail? Or which would the reader prefer?
