Shout outs!!!!!

I really want to express how thankful I am for all you guys on here who have helped me understand the world of Land Cruisers! I started a thread not long ago really looking for some help...and I got more than I could have asked for!

https://forum.ih8mud.com/100-series-cruisers/744247-front-diff-gone-need-help-understanding-some-things-3.html

Special thanks to anyone who gave input on this thread I linked. And apologies for not doing the diffs myself as some of you have the ability to, my 25 years of knowledge just was not up to par yet! Learned some good lessons!

MORE DETAILED PICTURES WILL BE COMING! Just stuck at work for the next few weeks!

Man! Love it! I was wondering if there was an alternative. I see most people put their switches in the same location as ours, but I would think someone would have hit a knee on them and thought of something different! You hit the nail on the head! Will this allow me to lock the front independently? I notice you can do the rear only or both front and rear together but not just front...maybe im missing something...can you buy the switch from a website or is it more of a find it in a "part out" kind of deal?

A buddy and coworker of mine has been creating this quick release clamp for fire extinguishers and has almost began the production process. I will definitely be putting one in my vehicle, so once I have one I will post up some pictures as well. He's a good guy and puts a lot of hard work into his product so check his stuff out!

Tried attaching this to the prior post but here is a rendering of his product...

Reno,
I got the 80 switch from Cdan, if I remember correctly. It was about $50 shipped and I didn't buy the wiring harness -- you don't need it. It's a bit expensive, but well worth it. I believe the part number is 84725-60020.
You may be able to find the switch used, but you'll have to do some searching and waiting.
You pin-pointed the downside of the 80 switch. You cannot operate the front locker independently, just like the 80-series. Well, I can, but currently I don't have my rear locker installed yet. I don't see this as a problem for me as I can imagine any situation where there is a need for the front locker would also benefit from the rear locker being locked at the same time and I don't see a downside to that.

I got ya, thanks for the info bud! I'd have to agree about the situation of most likely needing both engaged anyways. BUT!!!! Wait until you get the rear locker installed. Sometimes your ass has the tendency come out from under you and slide one direction or the other. A lot of times you will want the front only engaged actually that way it can pull you along without having to be in a situation where your rear end gets squirmy. I found a locker switch for sale in a part out on here and after speaking with who was selling it, we both came to the agreement its rather dumb to go from being able to function your lockers independently to losing the functionality of locking only the front, so I passed on the deal. Not worth wasting 50$ to lose functionality of something that I spent 20x that amount on just for the "look", plus I am liking my light up rocker switches!

I have to say John is one of the most helpful people to deal with. He answered all my tech questions prior to placing an order, and even gave me a bit of a shipping discount! Great guy to work with and great customer service!

I also opted out of powdercoating them after reading a few threads on here. I had two reasons myself. One is I have access to powdercoating place via a friend of mine as well as the fact that I can use a spray gun to lay some paint down. Rattle cans are nice for touch up but spray guns are better! :)

Sliders!

Well my WKOR sliders came in! I got them just bare metal as my powercoating connection was only 75$ for the pair instead of 100$. I got them mounted on and snapped a few pictures. Well shortly after I decided to try to update my phone and lost everything and this was the only one I had on my computer. I will get more pictures once I get back home from work later next week! Enjoy! 2013-10-28 13.31.49.jpg

I purchased a few of these due to an increased amount of smash-n-grabs around me. I think I got 10 so if anyone is interested in the remaining ones I do not use just let me know and I will charge you what I paid.

Does anyone know how to remove the tint off of my tail lights? I hate it, and the company will not give me replacements!!! :censor:

If it is a film you can remove it. Spray on is going to be difficult to remove without melting the plastic with a paint stripper.

Have you got it yet? Like to see where you're going to locate it.

My clamp has been paid for! My buddy who makes them has started accepting payments BUT he has a new process in which he is going to extrude the aluminum in which it will give it a much better finish without the need of machining the surfaces. This also allowed him to get them anodized black! So I am pretty excited to see the new revision once it gets out. Maybe he will let me post some spy shots once he gets the first run of them made. He is also making one for a Maglites so I am sure I will get one of those as well....Stay tuned for that one!

As far as mounting goes me and him were talking about it and I was thinking of building a seat bracket in which it stays on the seat frame and adjusts with seat movement. It would be in front of the seat under my legs. I haven't had the chance to simulate the size of it as I have been away from home but I think if I can get the mount flush enough it would be possible.

No I wish it was film, its painted. Im wondering if I can dilute paint thinner and apply it to a soft cloth and do it slowly then once I am finished either sand and clear coat or just clear coat. Any thoughts?

If anyone is out there with the LED tails like mine but not tinted and would like to trade you know where to find me!......worth a shot haha

You should get rid of that tacky ARB compressor switch and use a toyota one for a cleaner look. and while your at it wire a dash light indicator to it :)

Respect. If already retrofitting an OEM diff switch, have you given any thought to retrofitting a Toyota switch to operate the compressor as well? Very slick.

No I decided to pass on the OEM diff switch so I could still independently lock my front. However I am still looking for other alternatives. Not sure if anyone has the ARB switches like mine but they get rather warm to the touch...has anyone else noticed that?

BUT the OEM compressor switch! Now I like that one! Wouldn't happen to have a switch available would you RobRed? If not looks like I will be digging through some part-outs... And just curious but is that actually a OEM compressor switch? Looks somewhat like a fog light switch or something mounted sideways. I came from 4runners so cut me just a little slack, the tricks of the trade are still new to me on a 100!!

Thanks guys for all the input btw...

The fog light switch above the locker switch controls the compressor. When depressed the compressor turns on, the lamp in the switch activates and the "clogged air filter" lamp illuminates in the dash. I thought the clogged air filter lamp looked most like it was compressing air. :)

Not going to lie but I never even noticed the dash light that was circled in red! That's really cool I think I might give that a shot!

Very nicely done. For some reason, I confused Artwerks picture of his 100 (very nice BTW) for yours. The added dash light is decidedly the piece de resistance to me. Also, a big thanx for TLC FAQ. Just an awesome resource.

Excuse me if this is a silly post, but I have an actual front diff lock indicator on my instrument panel. If you have this, wouldn't you prefer to have that indicate when your ARB front locker is engaged instead of the "replace air filter" indicator?
