Hello there, its been a while since I last posted.

I Started my fj40 project with an idea that went from simply doing the body work, dealing with the typical rust and stuff, to a complete frame off restomod, as I'm not looking for a complete original restoration.

That being said, I'm now in the phase of taking apart the tub, but its my first time doing so... I'm planing on doing it this weekend, so far I've seen 6 bolts that connect the tub to the chassis. Are there any more? in the picture I've mark the ones I've found.

Thanks, and sorry for my bad English :D

What year FJ40? Two different mounts during thebrun of the FJ40. Top two circles are outside any of the body. Next two down are the rear motor mount location on the 61-80 models. The two brackets just below that will have body mounts. Two or four across the back. Two on top of the rear wheel arch on the 61-78 models. Not sure of the 79 plus has those. Only pulled one 79+ tub. Shouldn't be too hard to figure out. Never had to use a manual to remove a tub.

it's a 76. I figured it wouldnt be too hard, just making sure. You are right, the top 2 circles should be on the bottom of the picture, as the one im showing now, just a minor mistake

Make sure you remove ALL of the bolts

The rear frame member(doubles up as the bumper) has four if I remember correctly. Hardest ones to get to.

Sawsall with a metal blade can be helpful.

From experience there’ll be one that’ll need a hot wrench to get it off.

The mounts are straight forward... just be sure to disconnect the brake lines, fuel lines, breathers, steering, and wiring.

My experience was that the hardest ones were the front mounts under the front footwells. If they're rusted in place, it's really hard to remove them. I had to cut a hole in the floor to get at the passenger side. Luckily I needed to replace the floor in that area anyway.

The rear sill mounts aren't that hard, but you'll only get maybe an 1/8th of a turn at a time due to space. Minor annoyance.

All of the other mounts are easy to cut with a sawzall if necessary.

Good luck!
