Any secrets to removing the Toyota LandCruiser nameplate on the edge of the liftgate? I dont want to damage it. I am trying to buy one from another Mud member who has the black pearl version I need for my 40th but want to make sure we get it off without damaging it.
Toyota doesnt sell the black pearl version anymore....

Fishing line.

One of the many videos on Youtube:

Mine cracked and half fell off. I bought another used one and had the same problem with old dried glue and it came off too. The paint was a mess around the edges and I had some extra Monstaliner from the flare delete so I debadged and used it to cover the old messed up area.

I don't mean to hijack, but does anyone know a good source to get a new one or decal I'd be happy with.I blacked all other emblems out and I'm tired of people calling it a 4runner

Factory part is still available but over 100 bucks.

Way too much cabbage for plexiglass.used to be a guy on here did vinyl as my 80 is black it would be easy to do decal in silver.can't remember his handle

Calling @NLXTACY ....He'll recall who's making the replacement LC emblems on the rear gate. Someone is making them from metal I think. maybe it's just a sticker.

It would be nice if nlxtacy made one it would have premium muffler bearings and improved flux capacitors for that perfect fit and finish as well as function.I would drop paper for that one.

I like the bare naked look ;)

Hi, were you able to get the nameplate off? Were there clips back there beyond the glue to contend with?
