Too far north. Too far east.
I'm trying to remove the steering shaft from my 69. I have the steering wheel off, the column shift off, the column over the tube off ... but I can't get the dang shaft to come off the gear box. What am I missing?

If your is the same as mine (71) It does not come off unless you take the gears out of the stearing box. I ended up pulling the pitman-arm, unbolting the stearing box and pulling the hole assemble out of the engine compartment. Depending on what you are trying to do, you could cut the shaft.

I kind of like the way it worked out in that I can stear the frame around while doing my frame off restoration.

Good luck

Sawzall cut close to the box. Replace with later manual box or go PS
