Hi guys, I’ve picked up a 2002 LX from(MI) my sister/brother in law that they replaced with another 2007 LX (from LA)that’s the twin to this one I’ve gotten from them! Pearl with w/ ivory interior. Yes she has a Lil rust but no issue except the Ac is getting inspected this week. But it has been Lexus/Toyota serviced for 16 years! Records from day 1.....!

My purpose (my lady) is to use it until next fall until my oldest daughter starts driving. Plus i’ Have an addiction to autos LOL!

I’ve already done a few things to it from changing the rear upper hatch, dying the leather seats/armrest, grinding surface rust/paint, fixing ML subwoofer foam, replaced rear rotors/brakes, replacing spare tire carrier, new Lexus mats, etc... I’ll make a thread chronicling my last 2 weeks and my plans of replacing the wheels, adding rear hatch spoiler etc...

This site has help me already by reading y’all helpful tips!!! Post some pictures

Regards

Tommy

Is it safe to flatten the cap a bit? I’ve found a couple of sets of 20” tundra wheels that I’ can get. Either for $250.

I’ll try to retro fit my Lexus center cap on it vs trying to get spacers or flattening.
My best friend has a 99 LC with 20” tundra wheels and he has 1.25” spacers.

Btw I’ have a 2010 Tundra with 22’s
Which wheel do you like for the LX470?

Help with decision

Took the rusty Michigan upper hatch off! Found the exact color match in Mint condition in Calera, Alabama at Billy’s Toyota/Lexus parts (ive used them since my first Lexus SC400 20 years ago). It had a gold package that I changed with the original chrome emblems.

Dental floss and my heat gun on LOW sand a plastic scrapper to gently pry the stubborn emblems up a bit.

Goop remover/thinner and a lil wax afterwards... used 3M emblem adhevise And masking tape for added pressure

Looks amazing!

Is that rust starting to form around the lights? If so, I might recommend changing/improving the seal around the 3rd brake light and possibly drilling a couple holes at the low spots for drainage.

On to the Mark Levinson subwoofer foam repair... ordered the simply speakers kit for $19 and it was a breeze to fix, just take your time. I’ used the link from Club Lexus LX forum directions. Plus tips from SImply speakers YouTube channel.

My daughter was my assistant! And she fully installed in the LX once we completed the repair!

I’m on it!!! Just called my body guy( sent pictures) and he said he’ll repair it and put some drainage holes in it. Thanks, i’ Didn’t even pay attention to it!!!!! I guess I was just happy to get rid of that rotten out upper deck lid that was on there.

Nice work on those door sills. Well executed.

Rear resonator muffler deleted and replace with straight pipe and a rounded rectangular stainless steel tip from Autozone in the oem location.

Sounds a little louder than oem on the outside very mild change. I can’t tell the difference on the inside unless I’m passing or WOT. My Tundra sounds like a man with its Flowmaster 50 and deleted resonatorand Lexus still sounds like a Lexus....

Not sure If there’s any HP or mileage difference as some have suggested... don’t know these suvs well enough to articulate fairly, but it sounds a Lil better
