After some trials, we figured out a secure, non rattling attachment method-toggle anchors with screws and rubber.

The spare wheel was reattached to the door for the trip to PA. I hate having it mounted to the door due to the weight stress it puts on the bottom door hinge. :hhmm: Later this month this problem will be fixed with a new bumper w swingout.

Cool, good way to mount. I'm thinking of going the RivNut route to secure all my stuff. Looking good

I hear you on the rear door. The hinges on my right side door are beat because of that. Mine has the Kaymar bumper with swing out, Cruisin Offroad in Canada does some nice work for 70 series also. They made me a nice rear bumper for my BJ70 that I had.

for some ideas check out the troopie build in the 70s forum. the rear storage works well since that is mostly wasted space.
i switched to Radd on the island, John and Rob both really know their 70s.
it is interesting how as soon as you post up a vehicle that supposedly shouldn't be in the country, the questions start. why can't people just be happy that someone has a cool vehicle?

best of luck with the build. if you have any questions i will try and help. the one i am building is a 92 so very similar to yours.

cheers

Hey Wayne,

Good to see you over in here. I do know he was following your thread in the 70 section as we talked a few times about what you were doing and he was wanting something like it.

it is enjoyable watching others experiencing the joys of creation ...
thanks for the invite

Wayne & Alex, thanks for the comments!

Wayne, any suggestions/advice from you is greatly appreciated. Your craftmanship and creative ideas are truely amazing. Following your Troopie Build for the past 9 months has given me plenty of ideas. I watched, debated with myself and talked with a few ONSC members, researched, and continue to find time & $$ resources to implement. I plan to create a top console for speakers and sound system like yours in the next month or two. My wife wants me to find someone to create the sliding rear cargo panel, like your build. Right now I am debating the installation of the Denco Turbo...Toughts?

Alex, I debated on the rivet/nutzert. My reason for using the toggles & screws was to not have to create new holes in the quarter panels. I used the existing holes and 1/8 inch toggle anchors.

Looking good Quinton, ya gotta love diamond plate.

x2.

Hopefully I'll get the rear door storage comparments from Wayne in the next few weeks, they are gonna be nice. I do dig the ABS/HDPE interior panels though. I may do them for my side panels and front door panel:hhmm:

Looks great!

How about a fold down table on that back barn door? For food and beverages? :<)

Hmm..I want to see that setup in person. I like, but how do you keep it from rattling? Are those felt circles near the top of the backboard?

This is not mine, I had just seen it before and thought that it would be useful. I will look around on Expedition Portal for more pictures.

thanks for the compliment, the nutzerts were used as per the owners request, even self tapping screws would suffice.

the Denco from Radd Cruisers si the best bang for the buck in kit form, it is an easy install and very complete.

on my PZ i will be using a mapped turbo, it spools quickly and works very nicely on hills at highway speeds.

cheers

The finished panels on both sides.

Next project is a custom drawer and storage compartment platform.
