Pictures? Where are you located in RTP? I would like to see this badboy.

I am located in Kannapolis, nc near the N C Research campus.

You are more then welcome to come see it. Send me a pm ahead of time, so it and I can be around.

My goal is to take it to the Logan's Run event in September. 90% assured I will attend all day Saturday and most of Sunday at this time.

The HZJ75 Troopy front end rebuid is finished :
Front Diff rebuilt
Front Knuckles rebuilt
Seals Replaced
1 Spindle replaced
Bearings replaced
Front Drive shaft removed, inspected, and reinstalled
Plus
Rear Transfer Case Bearing installed
Transfer case oil replaced

I must be deranged to spend so much $$$, but now I can take it to play.

Drove to Salty Caper in salisbury this evening. Enjoyed a few  then avoided the mess on I85 home.

Quinton, Looks like the build is coming along great. I'll be back in a few weeks and will start the re-build on mine.

We'll have to have to have a troopie face-off one of these days:grinpimp:

Anyone know how I can acquire windshield wiper motors for 93 HZJ75 Troopy?

Might check to see if an 80 series set would work. :D

Radd Cruisers, ENS Toyota/Lexus are two vendors north of the border that regularly carry parts for 70 series. Maybe drop tlcruiserman an e-mail, he carries 70 series parts regularly. GS cruisers sell used stuff too, 70sguy IIRC
Toyota part number if you try ENS: 85110‑60180

Check out RooDog Spares outta Australia on Flea Bay, I ordered some 70 series axle parts for the conversion on my old 40. They have a lot of good stuff, shipping is a bitch though.

Recommendations Dual Batteries for diesel & exhaust

Thanks Alex. I will start contacting those guys to see if any have them in stock. Right now Don @ 4wheel is crossreferencing to see if an 80 series wiper motor will work instead.

Two new things I am working on at the moment and would love to hear suggestions or thoughts:
1) Dual batteries: Mary and I are both culprits for leavin the lights on and have WORN out the current Interstate normal 12 volt battery. We both want to replace it and add a secondary battery. I was thinkin 2 Optima Yellow Top. One would be primary and the second would be for auxillary and back up the first. Thoughts?

2) Exhaust.: Apparently at Logan's run a rock broke through the rust spot on the exhaust pipe close to the manifold and cracked a junction point b/w two pipes. I have never fixed an exhaust pipe, nor researched how to/what I should do. Since it is a diesel (exempt from exhaust testing), I was thinking of increasing the diameter of pipe to 2 1/2 inches and running straight pipes tucked up & inside the frame. What are your thoughts/recommendations?

If you believe what you read on the interwebs ;) here on 'mud, the Optima brand is not as well regarded as it was before it allegedly moved production to Mexico and stopped using "virgin" lead. There are quite a 'mudders who have started using Sears Platinum, which is supposed to be a badge-engineered Odyssey (AGM). I'm happy with the 31M Platinum in my FZJ80 after 3 years.

A lot of the expedition wheelers use good old Wal-Mart brand batteries. For what I understand they're the best bang for the buck, AND if you have a problem on the road., there's a Walmart around the corner for replacement/and reimbursement if it's still under the warranty...

I've had two Optima Yellow tops replace under warranty, if I were to spend money on another glass-mat battery, it will be the Sears instead. I had a red top primary, yellow secondary on the FJC and another yellow on the trailer.

For exhaust needs, hit up Henry's in Raleigh. He has done a fine job on my FJC, our 80 and a few other members. They will do what you want as long as its doable...

Had quite a few walmarts fail on me.

I only use Interstate now if I can, not saying I wouldn't do a sears die hard but the price difference between the two for most people is about $60 and for me since I buy through my work it is about $120

If you are looking for the best bang for your buck I understand the costco brand always gets top marks in testing.

IF your still working on the wiper motor I got a cheap one here for you if the 80 series works.

Thanks guys for the advice, and suggestions. I will spend another night researching the dual battery on mud and overland.

One small benefit of the AGM is that it doesn't seem to vent acidic fumes that corrode the posts and hold-down strap as did the previous standard "wet" lead-acid DieHard Gold.

Update on the build:
Tore the wiper assembly apart. Found the linkage bolt loose and the wiper arm bolts loose. Cleaned, regreased, and tighten everything. Both are working again.

Holding off on purchasing a secondary battery until after the holidays. Planning to purchase an Interstate Mega Tron Plus 35 in January

After a year of driving it, I finally have a feel for what we want to do with the interior. Mary figured out the solution for the sound system:
a sony media receiver and IPOD touch. This system will keep the IPOD secure, involve no exposed wires in the cabin, and provide the option for satellite radio. The IPOD touch was a birthday gift in November. The idea for new speakers she has yet to share with me. We will see what Christmas brings.

My brother and I then set about working on the side walls. At Thanksgiving, we measured all the side walls to replace the cardboard with aluminum.

Are you gonna cut the interior walls yourself, or have them done? I've been contemplating doing the same thing for the front doors and rear cargo area:hhmm:

I stole the photos below from this thread
https://forum.ih8mud.com/60-series-wagons/538219-rear-panel-cargo-area.html

They are an ABS type plastic, others have used a marie type plastic as well. I think this would work better than the aluminum panels Quinton. THe metal will turn the empty space behind the panels into an echo chamber. You can also get the plastic in many different colors.

This is what I am planning for my 60

Alex, I will cut the walls myself. I started with tearing off the rear side panels and the rear door panels to use as pattern.
