@waiting for time, what was the vehicle coated with after it was sandblasted?
Not sure, I believe it is a wash primer,I got it delivered like this. I use etch primer on the bare metal and weld through primer where applicable.

I’m waiting for the body panels before Cutting her up. Started working on the rear as this needs most of the paneling made.
Rear valence and one supporting bracket off, four layers of steel in these positions, very convenient just behind the rear wheels.🙄

Made a template for the structural support plate sandwiched between the floor and the bottom support bracke, on the top is another support bracket.

Template transferred to a 1,5mm sheet and cut out. Here it is on top of the old one.

Then mirrored it to fit the other side. Here are the two plates with the old bottom support bracket.

Time for a small update.
Working on bracing the body before the new steel arrives.
main points are the rockers and the paravan.
Made a brace for the door that pushes and pulls at the same time.
This picture shows how it fits in the door opening, the thread rods are fixed to the door opening by clamps.

The bar inside will be welded between the A pillars above the inner rockers.

The outside part of the floor is ordered as Part of the inner rocker.

I did not realize this was a mini. I grew up in Minis. The small British Leyland kind. My dad had three. One for Body parts, one for engine parts, the other we drove. So cool. Learned to overhaul engines on these. I used to help my dad make paper gaskets from old thick file folders. He would hand me a part and 12 mm wrench. I would place the paper on the part and tap the outline of the part and any bolt holes or orifices with the wrench. Good memories.

EDIT- I did not see all your pics when I responded. Clearly a mini. 🤣

Yep, it’s a classic mini. It is a newer one, 1996. I’m amazed at how poorly they are made. The design is old and I get that but this one has the spot welds randomly made and some places have way to much other places have almost none.
it still is a fun little car and I did work a lot on them too on them when I was younger.

Do you have a press brake for the thicker pieces you folded?

The first bends were made on the finger brake, consecutive bends in the vice. They are to close to do it in another way.

First new steel arrived.

Stil more on the way, we will be replacing about 20 to 30% of the car.
Some will be custom made and some bought.

More demo work.
This came out.....

The brackets from the under side need to be repaired and put back in the new rocker. Just like the indents and holes.

Big holes ready for replacement.

These replacements are not available unless the hole floor is replaced. Therefore I will make them myself.

Note to self: buy stock in company that makes Vise-Grips.
You can never have to many vice grips when you work on sheet metal.🤓
