Hello, I am planning to rebuild a J40 (1964) in very bad shape

What is the role of the lever
Where do these lights connect with
What is the role of the round lever
How does the rear hatch work - How does this fold

Help is Greatly appreciated

lever in the dash is for shifting the transfer case, 4H N 4L after the 4WD pull cable is pulled
the 2 red lights are blinkers, the green light is to let you know it is in 4wd
 
Great you have this rig, it looks like a solid ‘64 vintage 40. But these questions are for some very basic functionality. I don’t know where Brampton is, but do you have any friends/acquaintances that have some basic automobile knowledge close by? Maybe a car repair place that you could buy lunch for the owner for a few hours of training? Good luck, IH8Mud is a great place for help but it’s still constrained by internet/online non-personal connections.
 
Not very important but where did this photo come from? It has a really early ash tray in it. I have only seen those on the dash of FJ35/28s, or in the back of front bench seat of a FJ45 LV wagon.
