the last time I owned an FJ55 someone told me that you could use the front fender to repair the rear wheel well arch of a pig. the drivers front matches the drivers rear and visa versa. Is this true, and has anyone else done this?

definetly not a "exact" match. but worth trying out. I am sure you could get close enough to make it look fine. There are subtle differences to the curves with would rule out an exact drop in match shape wise.

Actually, the passenger front matches the drivers rear and vice versa.

i just went out and put the fender to the rear arch,, the front opening is a bit larger. the curves look good but you will need to remove a couple sections from the front lip to make it smaller.

quite possible
I have done it several times

I have most of the front arches still intact. You can have these for shipping.

Very interesting. Given the fact that my rear arches are toast, I will keep this in mind when I see someone parting out a rusty pig. Thanks very much for an informative thread!!!:pDave

Bringing back a really old thread..., but we still have this problem. Since we aren't lucky enough to get panel replacements for the 55, what are others doing to replace rear wheel well arches? Somewhere I read on Mud there was a quarter panel patch from a utility bed that had an arch that was very similar but I can't locate the thread any longer so, please chime in with ideas. I don't mind buying equipment to make them either if that's what I need to do, but I don't want to re-invent the wheel if I don't have to.

Thanks, I don’t think I would have been able to find that again.
