While replacing my rear shocks last week i noticed the bushings in the upper and lower control arms were dry rotting, missing pieces or mushy. Panhard also.

I am obviously in need of new ones and I use the truck just for fun, not a DD. Anyway what have those out there that have replaced them with had good results. You use OEM, Polyurethane, or even heim joints? Willing to consider all alternatives. I have a 2.5" OME 863 heavies in the rear with TJM longs all around.

Suggestions appreciated.

Slee's on mine (front end), installed in my garage with a HF press - not too bad of a job, but prepare yourself for the POP! when the oldies come out. The handling is drastically improved. I can't compare with OEM's on my rig, but Christo makes a great product and I would order them again. In fact, I need to do the rears - thanx for the reminder!

Ditto other's advice to stay with OEM for the rear UCA & LCA bushings. This assumes you value: Overall longevity, comfort and maintenance free performance for the life of the part. This would be high on my priority list for a DD or overland rig.

For crawlers: Other joint types can offer specific performance advantages...but at a cost to some/all of the above priorities...based upon my experience.

Thanks all I think I will go OEM.

I have trouble getting off the driver upper control arm as the bolt is not going out due to the LSPV location. Any suggestions?

Raise the rig up a little bit and you can run your socket extension thru the coil springs.

Thanks, I just did that on the passanger side, I am talking about the bolt which is not coming out due to LSPV bracket.

For what it's worth, I'm going with the complete Slee rear lower HD control arms and bushings. I like the OEM option and could go back if needed.

Tried that but the LSPV bracket is so badly located that I can't get to the top bolts by the gas tank :(
