So my rear output seal is leaking on my transfer case . Ordered new seal from Toyota however doesn’t seem like the right part #. Can anybody verify this is the correct seal ? 1982 FJ60

Just to clarify, you want the seal that is for the shaft (flange) going to the rear wheels?

If yes, the 48003 has been superseded to

(I believe the 48022 you rec'd is the super'd part # for the seal going to the FRONT driveshaft).

For a 2f that doesn't look right at all. This is what I used on mine though I don't know the Toyota part number.

EDIT: reading comprehension bad, I thought this was about the rear main seal. Ignore me.

this image looks like a rear MAIN seal.

Looks like I’m going to have to take a drive over to the dealership and have a heart to heart conversation with them 😂👍🏻

Are these hard to replace? I have one leaking also.

I’m doing the whole t case. But I imagine it’s easy enough to replace just the seals. FSM/body chassis book has a procedure for doing just those seals.

looks like a bunch of SST's.
Don't need an SST for this. A large screwdriver or prybar, over one stud and under the next to keep the companion flange from moving while you break the stake nut loose.

that'll be like arguing with a brick wall. Or maybe like trying to teach algebra to cows.

Haha. Funny you say that because I was right by the Toyota dealership this morning and just kept driving. It would of been a waste of time.

Now I need to find somebody on here to tell me this is what you need and this is where you get it ... *hint *hint 😂👍🏻

OSS posted it pretty clearly in his image. Go to Partsouq.com, put in your VIN# save the vehicle to "your garage" click on the vehicle, click on drive train, find the schematic of the transfer case, click on the part ...that OSS pointed out. A window will pop up showing you which parts are available ...click on any for an FJ60 and order it.
