I know there have been many threads regarding the leaf springs. I can't find the specific info I am looking for so I am hoping someone can help. My budget doesn't allow for replacement at this time. My rear spring are basically a flat with a slightly downward curve. I found a company in Ft Worth that can rearch and add a leaf on each rear for $275 total. He said I need to know the factory specs and know how much lift I want to achieve.
Anyone know the specs that he needs? Also, what maybe a good lift in this scenario.
I'm pretty new to this stuff so any help will be appreciated and I will attempt to understand what you are saying...

almost the same price as two new spring packs - just sayin'

new bushings from Skyjacker are $25

Man, I sure would appreciate the info on where I would be able to purchase for that price... Only ones I found were $400

You could buy a sweet pair of Alcans for $440 that would last for a very long time.

For $275 he'd better be providing a guarantee for some time. I had my rear leafs rearched for about $150. They're still ok after some years, but I've got the lean.

call Kurt at Cruiseroutfitters

I had the rear springs on my 55 re-arched many, many years ago. They said they would add 1 leaf, they had enough material left over to add another little leaf. They did a nice job, Got a good lift but a stiff ride. Cost about as much as new pair of springs, but it was done in one day. Sure did improve my carry capacity. I'm still running those springs, though I'm SOA now.

Having them made is a little out of my budget... I only need it for a temp fix because it is a pretty severe lean. I will call the cruiser guy. Hopefully can get specs or good news of some new leaf springs.
I haven't ventured far enouh to do a flip kit so I'm SU for the foreseeable future

Thanx for the info guys

Pighead, you don't by chance remember the specs on yours do you? Probably had a few since then, but worth a shot. The guy said I could use a tape measure to see how far off they are, but I don't have a reference point

No, we did not use factory specs...eyeballs and a good blacksmith put me good with no lean.
