Rear Door Lock Actuator - Help needed

I have an actuator taken apart on my workbench now, I don't recall a third gear. I just got a new actuator that I havent installed yet. If I move the arm (silver piece on left) it breaks free from the pivot. I can move it until it touches plastic in both directions. On the new one, it is rock solid.

I think the arm breaking free from the pivot is the most common problem. Tomorrow I will look again for that third gear and post back what I find.

ok, so we're in agreeance then. I had already bought another one; I didn't know the movement in the arm wasn't normal at the time. I think Cdan charges $70 for a new one.

Had I done a little more research on this before, I would have at least attempted drilling and pinning the arm before spending the money on a new one. I was trying to save you a couple bucks by relaying this info to you.

Hope you get it fixed up.

does that rotating yellow plastic hinge go THROUGH The black plastic on the door handle? do i force that whole thing through? or am i supposed to get in there somehow and get the left BOLT off for the outside door handle instead?!

The rod pops out of the clip, same as the others, just larger. Some lube, then rotating the clip, can make it easier.

that ****er looks like it is captured to me. but mostly i REALLY didn’t want to break anything. plus if i am out in the street working for five hours on the vehicle in texas i get the bonus of getting a tan.

It pops out of there, have used pliers from the yellow clip to the tip of the rod. You have the handle out, so no need, just put it back like it came apart?

so you got some angled needlenose in there and squeezed the end of the yellow clip to get it to let go? to be honest i thought it was just supposed to slip out like the other two and if i hadn’t decided to stop and torque all my lug nuts to 80 for lb and blow off some steam i am sure i would have busted the handle or the yellow clip or both. it’s hard to see what is in there...
