Does anyone know if 4th gen 4Runner rear disk brake parts or FJ Cruiser rear disk parts will bolt on to a 3rd gen ('98 4Runner) rear end?

Thanks,

Steve

The simplest way to know is to look it up under each year in any part house.

Dunno if this helps you, but the 96-02 long whellbase 90 series Prado comes with rear disk brakes. This should work as a bolt-on on the 3rd gen 4runner, as they are the same platform. The Prado is full-time 4WD, so that may imply slight variations.

For parts reference, in the UK, this Prado is called Land Cruiser Colorado.

EDIT: you may get LWB Prado parts from Australia/Japan if the need arises.

someone makes a full floater kit for 3rd gens now, if you put discs on a stock 3rd gen axle you will wear out the bearings from the forces that the calipers excert.

Sky-manufacturing has their monte carlo caliper kit out there. Works alright. No ebarke.
