I am looking a doing a rear disc brake conversion on my 60 series, I have got advice on using the 60 series front hubs and discs, or minitruck hubs and discs, but what calipers do I need to mate up to the wheel mounted E brake on a 60 series.

I am also pretty keen to do an complete 80 series swap in, because I have a complete set up, anyone done this?

No caliper will "mate up to the wheel mounted E brake on a 60 series": the original e-brake uses the rear drums & shoes. Some folks in OZ have alluded here to an Isuzu rear disc brake setup with a park brake but from a model we don't get in the US. Downey's kit (& TSM's) uses Eldorado rear brakes. There is general disagreement on whether this is a workable setup for a daily driver.

No one on this forum has found the "proper" Toyota front caliper/rotor setup to adapt to the rear of a 60/62. An early writeup shows how to mount 60/62 front calipers on the rear of a 40 using mini-truck hub parts.

A partial solution is TSM's transfer-case-mounted disc park brake: FJ 60 Land Cruiser I have their first operational prototype and it works fine. I also admit to being a biased, unpaid shill for them.

I'm part way through a 60 buildup with an 80 rear. Be aware the 80 axle is about 6" wider. I cut and widened my front housing 5 1/4" so it works well for me. The front was over an inch wider initially so now they're pretty close

Thanks for the help, I am in australia, I will look into the isuzu

but, for the moment, I am going to try the 80 series route, on a 60 series housing and see if I can forge the route, it doesnt look too hard, I will let you know

A good machine shop can cut the axle tubes & shafts down & re-weld eveything to fit a narrowed stance.
