Can someone point me in the direction of where I can find the dimensions for the brackets to mount Monte Carlo calipers to my 1981 BJ60? The brackets need to be offset using spacers. I believe I made my spacers about 3/4 but can some one confirm this. I can't take mearsurement off my cruiser right now because I'm at sea. Thanks for the help.

Full Floater or Semi??

The problem is that I don't have a lathe at home to make the spacers, but the boat I'm working on right now does. Is ruff stuff a supplier or a member? Thanks

dont they use the same adapter brackets that the 40/55 series use?

if so then I can send you a template to use to make some.

that was the link i was looking for, i had to use 2 washers for spacers and only 2 bolts. i definately would have preffered a bracket that would hold on all 4 and didnt require washers. why couldnt you lathe some round stock and then cut it down when u get home?

I totally can just make them when I get home, but it will a nicer job if I do them on the lathe. Do you know of anywhere in Canada I could pick up the brackets or did you get them from Ruff Stuff?

bought mine from ruff stuff in the states. but only 2 of 4 holes lined up and still needed to use washers as spacers. in hindsight i dont think it would be that hard to build a set that fit if you have access to a torch drill and welder. this isnt a piece of your truck that you spend a lot of time staring at, a bumper may deserve a little more cosmetic attention

what did they run you. I didnt noticed them for the 60 series... then again i am pretty tired and my eyes arent working right.

he doesnt seem to have them advertised on there anymore, about 50 or 60 bucks i think.
i have seenthe brackets just welded to the axle tube as well, may work for ya. it would have been nice if you had the calipers with ya so you could take the centers out to the right diameter while you were on the boat.

I have a T100 MC already installed and I modified my 40 series brackets to the fit the 60 but I had the same problem as you with only 2 hole to mount to. I much rather have 3 mounting holes, that is why I was looking for the measurements while I had access to tools. I'll check out the bracket supplies, it maybe better to go that route in the long run. Thanks for all the help

Our 1981-plus disc brake brackets are the same for semi-floating and full-floating, but the spacers are different. We use .711" spacer tubes for semi-floating, and .790" spacer tubes for full-floating. Our bracket kits cost more than others because our's are the ones that are laser cut, completely machined, zinc plated, and include all mounting hardware and spacers.

Downey, how many bolt holes line up on yours? they do sound better.

also, i used the soft lines off the front of a 92 fj80 to connect the brake lines to the monte carlo calipers, the other ones i found on one of the sites were too wide at the banjo end and couldnt get a reasonable amount of thread into the caliper. make sure to get a double flare kit for this.
