Can you tell me how you addressed the Hitch pin placement?

OK...got really busy with life and had to put this on hold for a while. I am still thinking about this, but have some issues with it. There are huge legal implications with doing something like this. Do you guys think this is something that someone could come back on me? If there was a fatality and it was determined that the bumper was part to blame?? I guess lets test the water again and see if there is anyone still interested in it.

Alright man, here is the deal, you can realistically end up in civil court for anything. My feeling is that if you include a disclaimer and do none of the welding yourself, you will be legally protected (I'm a cop though, not a lawyer) I.E. If the customer physically welds the bumper and bolts it to their vehicle, they assume all liability.

That said, I'm in Bountiful Utah and I want the entire setup, bumper and tire carrier. I would be willing to drive up and pay you cash if you would be willing to get your CNC shop to cut the materials. Anyways, let me know. Or sell me the plans and give me the number to your CNC shop.

I thought about the whole disclaimer thing and not sure how that would hold up in court. I was actually thinking excluding the receiver portion and if someone really wanted it, they could cut it in with a cutoff wheel. The receiver is where I would be really concerned. Someone welds it together and doesn't get good penetration. I need a few more people to make it cost effective. The last time I think I was looking for 5. Lets keep testing the water. If that doesn't work, I can talk with you offline on a deal. If you came up to pick it up, that would save you a lot of money on shipping.

I'd be interested in a kit.

just throwing it out there, not sure what luke at 4x4 labs has for a disclaimer or anything but i bought for my friend randy a DIY rear bumber for his 80 and it has a reciever hitch cut into it too.

cheers chappy

Luke has been selling weld together kits for a while now...you can try getting a hold of him at his shop...4x4 labs and see what he does...

He was only making weld together kits for the 80 series....

negatory on that. I have an email from him with all the parts and prices. He will sell you as little or as much as you want even for the 60's
