Can someone give me the measurement from the hood bumper to the mounting holes for the hold down on a late 60's early 70's split hood?

Center of forwardmost bolt of rubber bumper to the center of one of the two bolts that hold the latch: Also center of hole to center of hole dimension?

I have a 68' with a split hood and those holes were "lost" during the rebuild and now I need to drill them back.

Thanks,

is the 12" to the bumper or to the hold down? It looks like that is to the bumpers. I have those holes. Can you give me a diminsion from the front of the second bumper hole to either of the hold down holes?

Or from the latch point (front side) to the center of the holes for the hold down.

Thanks!

Yes, I bondo'd over the holes, and did not remember to drill them back out until after paint....

Yep, I need the other dimision... HELP Please!!!

close up

Here is an old picture of the two holes I need a diminsion for.....

The two larger at the bottom of the pic are for the hood bumper, the two side by side that are smaller are the ones that I need to locate.

I will take diminsions from the hood bumper holes, from the attachment point thingy above it, whatever.....

Here are the Dims from my 66 split hood:

3 inches center-to-centerline from the nearest bumper hole. 1.75 inches center-to-center between the two holes. The holes for the latch look centered on the line made by the two holes for the bumper. Hope this helps.

if you bondoed over them, can you find them from the bottom?

AWESOME! Thanks Heirloom!

twoyotas: That is the problem-- let me explain. This hood had been really abused and had big butt dents on it. I had to shrink it 40+ times, so it was a lot of work, but it had no rust on it and the edges were all good, so I beat it up good. I wanted to limit the bondo, so I beat it really close to straight. I beat the hood so much the bottom of the hood looked terrible. I bondo'd the bottom of the hood too, so the holes are really gone! My buddy thought the same thing, and came over yesterday with a flashlight trying to get a glimpse of it. Also tried a small magnet, but could not find the holes. Thanks for the idea though.

ahh, I see. hopefully Heirloom's numbers and photos will help

I'd try poking through from the bottom so it will be easier to touch up if you miss.
