Hi all, finally pulled my transmission and transfer case this weekend to fix my bad flywheel. It is the stock 4 speed and transfer case mated to a Chevy 350 with the advanced adapter bellhousing.
While it was out I attempted to swap transmission top covers to one from a 60 series with the hopes of moving the shifter back closer to the stock location but put the stock top cover back on because the transfer case lever guide was too short.
I got everything back in and hopped in to test out the new flywheel but the transmission was stuck in gear. I am able to move the shifter left and right including over towards reverse but not up or down.
I am planning on pulling out the transmission cover to get the top cover back off and put forks in the right location. Is that the right approach/thing to do? Or is there something else at play that I am missing?
