1986 Toyota Custom Cab

Well i seen allot of Toyota you see day to day and thought to myself well lets throw a wrench in this forum with my custom cab.
Well it started as i found it in the Washington state bush lol no craiglist. Guy sold it to me for 1000 but didn't realize it had 800 worth of parts in the bed. he told me to trash for him. so the truck was dead. i put a stroked out 22r into it and ran around on 33" tires at first. then my dad sold me the 35" BFG Km2 which are amazing. he made a father son deal that was kinda i couldn't not buy them or be a little slow in the head for the price. So 4" rough country indepent lift. Then i moved bases and with no gears took a 8hr drive to the next base into a 12hr drive. So on the look for gears i found a killer deal on front solid axle and rear gears and asui looker. the front axle had high steer done and gears with Detroit limited slip. The gear are 5.29. So i had a fab buddy in Idaho do the work and cut away the old set up and move my rear springs forward to the front and move the front axle position forward 3" and put 63" Chevy rear springs in the back. A total lift of 6" with 7" shackles. trail gear front and rear bumpers and 8000 pound winch. Which i never got stuck in my truck but blow the 22r up 1 mile past wal mart on the road going to pull a jeep out i mean a buddy lol and now have a 2.4ltr Toyota diesel my dads putting in for me while i am deployed. love my dad.
Hope you like my truck posting old blue pics of it and the new camo paint job in the pic shows i need bigger than 35 because bump stops crushed no wheels in wheel wells so looking for 38.
If you know how to turbo a toyota diesel plz pm me and if you have a none holy bed for the same year short bed pm and i can buy.
Thank you hope you like my truck/pride and joy.

Hooah

1992 toyota regular cab with V6 3.Slow named "Hooah" and used for mostly for trail exploration throughout the Sierras and Panamint Valley.

Modifications include SAS, 4.88 gears, Detriot rear , FJ80 reverse rotation 3rd member, ARB front. 35" BFGs, Allpro sliders, Badland custom front bumper and marlin rear bumper. Allpro interior roll cage and mastercraft seats. Powertank equipt.

NO cheap chinese **** gear from Trail Gear. Other than the truck, Made in USA.

Allpro Offroad actually built this rig when they first started doing conversions in the mid 90s.

"Hooah" doesn't get used too much now because I am married with two boys and it has only two seats. Wife and pushing me to sell because we now have an FJ60 for the family trail rig. But she has no right to tell me to sell because I owned it before I even met her.

1980 4x4 Shorty

Bought it a little over a year ago with 6k on a top end rebuild of the 22R that was in it, new paint, fenders, etc... Nothing much since then, the L43 died in the spring and replaced it with a rebuilt L50. The rad had a rather dramatic blow out driving home for Thanksgiving the other night and so I get an extended long weekend waiting for a few parts stores to open. Since I've got access to a nice garage figure I'll knock a few more things off the list. All-Pro's transfer case parking brake is going on, as is a new 1" master cylinder in prep for rear discs. Steering stabilizer has been shot for ages. Going on a hunt for the short that keeps knocking out the dash fuse (suspect the fan motor is a culprit). Etc, etc....

That's so great! I have a magazine ad from 77 or 78 that shows a "Idea Truck" (I think) with locking hubs! :D I hope your build goes well, but I'm almost leaning towards you leaving it as it is, because I've never seen a pre-79 factory conversion till now... Seems like a rare beast.

My 1987 4Runner was first featured on post #518 but I decided to remove a few small dents and do a little painting. The rims will also be changed out later this week.
