1986 4runner efi converted to weber, hydrogen fuel cell fabricated out of plumbing materials, wired 12 volts on toggle switch, both gases converged into one line then through a glass bodied boat filter. 31" tires 4.88 gears 22r 4cyl 30 mpg average. BE AWARE! burns hotter might wear out an old motor.

Can you do a test? I want to know the difference between running none, both hydrogen + oxygen, hydrogen only, and oxygen only. The reason I ask is I figure the real performance boost is coming from the oxygen. Basically there is nothing in the engine to keep the oxygen from combining with the gasoline rather than the hydrogen.

As a side note, hydrogen is noted for making metals brittle.

sold the truck , I noticed a gallon of distilled water to one table spoon sodium bicarb worked best. The concept was get better mpg. It was a noticable boost with the hydrogen. I wish I still had the truck with that system in it.

Hey OrangeFj45,

who did your 4.3L swap? I have one and wanted to find someone who has done one. Maybe you have a thread of the swap? Any help would be appreciated. I also see you're from norcal, what part?

I think Georg's rig came to him with the 4.3 in it, but it's a pretty common swap, I bet there are good write ups if you google it...

Here it is. With help from folks on this forum and the Cottonland forum I found and purchased a 1984 SR5. I had an fj60 for several years. I plan to build this as a camping/fishing rig and daily drive it to the music schools I teach guitar at. I am new to pickups but see so many design similarities to my 82 fj60. I love this truck already. The motor is tight and powerful after 500 miles on thorough rebuild. It runs really well. There are some minor cosmetic issues. No significant rust. Needs AC asap. First project: front axle rebuild and replace WARN hubs with AISIN.
