I kinda want to, but I already have a friend with a boat. That's the best kind of boat. You should buy it, you already have the 4x4, the trailer, the pickup truck, two sports cars, this will complete the set!
@iptman Do you need another one?Good price on a Toyota boat - Toyota made 1UZ powered ski boats back in the late 90s - early 2000s for a few years. Someone buy it so I quit being tempted. These are normally a lot pricier.

Yeah it probably is... none of my friends have boats and I have a strong desire so I'm probably going to end up being that guy.I kinda want to, but I already have a friend with a boat. That's the best kind of boat.
They are great boats but no, I don't need another one. That one is a direct drive closed bow version which is a little too single threaded for my tastes but with 1000 pounds of ballast that thing will curl an awesome wake for surfing. I will say, though, that non-emmissioned 1UZ would be perfect in a 40.@iptman Do you need another one?

Now is really not the right time for me for a variety of reasons but if it was I would be extremely tempted to pick it up. I've also never owned one but having a Toyota V8 sounds like a good start, and it also seems a reasonablensize. @iptman seems to have one?Having never owned a boat....would this be a "good" first one?
I read that thread. Solid info! I’ve done minimal auto wiring, but zero marine whatsoever.I've also never owned one but having a Toyota V8 sounds like a good start, and it also seems a reasonablensize. @iptman seems to have one?
Most of my knowledge comes from this thread:

Toyota Epic S22
I picked up a 2001 Toyota Epic S22 this week. I got it from the original owner in Kentucky, just on the other side of the river from Cincinnati. It only has 102 hours on it and has sat for quite a while. The last registration sticker on the hull is dated 2015. Thankfully it was under cover...forum.ih8mud.com
Anyone around this area of SC (Clemson adjacent) that knows boats and could take a look? Seller seems on the up and up via FB messenger, but I was hoping to get some knowledgeable insight before driving down. I'll gladly contribute to your LC/beer/travel/whatever fund for this ask. I'm glad everyone else thought this was as cool as I did, I sent it to all of my friends the other day when I stumbled across it on marketplaceGood price on a Toyota boat - Toyota made 1UZ powered ski boats back in the late 90s - early 2000s for a few years. Just rereading this and you make a very good point here, for the right price would be a very cool donor for someone.I will say, though, that non-emmissioned 1UZ would be perfect in a 40.
