There is a 1969 FJ40 for sale in the local area, and I am planning to go out this week to check it out in person. As far as I know, it is all original plus a plow, hasn't been used on the road for years (mainly as a plow truck for a small driveway), has some rust towards the rear and the brakes are shot. It has a hard top and all the glass. The owner says it shifts fine and runs alright and it has just over 41K on the clock. Owner wants 1600 OBO.
I was just wondering if this sounded like a reasonable deal given the information I have listed. It has a 3 on the tree manual trans that I know nothing about. I'll search what I can about this, but would like some feedback on it. Any particular things I really need to look for other than the regular "falls off with age" stuff?
I am mainly interested in it for an off road rig, so I am not really worried about getting it ready for the highway.
